500+ participants, packed gravel roads people heading towards you on certain stretches, plus many other park users. Dogs off leash, it was chaotic. Maybe okay if you walk, but for runners you can easily bump into someone. Needed extra effort to focus on your run, while managing above. Maybe it was just not a regular day, regardless it was not that fun. Visited 01/11
Love to come down here for a run on Saturday mornings. The course is fairly flat with a small hill around the 3km mark. Great spot to try for a pb if you typically run on one of the hilly courses. There is a small drink tap at the end of the course but you'll likely have to queue up for a minute or so.
Gardiner's Creek Parkrun is a flat, free, five kilometre course that uses the gravel walking tracks along the Creek next to Deakin University in Burwood.nVolunteers run this free event every Saturday morning. All ages. No pressure.nnTimes are recorded for those who have signed up to be a parkrun athlete. It's free and let's you record times at any 5km parkrun in the world.nnYou can sign up to be a volunteer. You'll be very welcome!
Well organised, welcoming & friendly. Lovely surroundings. Easy to run track. Plentiful parking close by in Carpark 6. 8am Saturdays.
Super friendly, terrific people. Not the easiest of courses but lots of volunteers to guide an out-of-towner.
