Went in for a blood test, the male nurse had no idea how to take blood and kept saying “it’s not giving”. He tried atleast 4 times before successfully drawing some blood and kept giving excuses saying he can’t see the vein. I was ready to walk out but now surely never going back.
I have been a patient here for over 25 years from when they were located opposite Australia Post at other end of Galway Ave and recently made online booking. Shortly thereafter, I received a terse and rude message via APP/SMS that my booking was cancelled as I had not seen a doctor for over 12 months. Reception staff member was rude via Voicemail and SMS and has no manners whatsoever. This was not only upsetting but also highly distressing as I had an ear infection causing pain and Absolutely disgusting, appalling and shameful conduct from Galway Medical Centre and its staff.
Receptionists are incompetent. Cancelled my appointment 10 minutes beforehand because they had stuffed up, despite confirmations and reminders in the days prior. No apology, no responsibility taken. Wonderful doctors like Chris Mkandala are let down by such woeful front line support.
I have been a patient of this Practice for 10 years. From the once caring and understanding front-line Reception Staff it has become very unpleasant going into this Surgery, or even phoning up to make an appointment. Online appointments can be made, instead of having to deal with reception, for a future appointment. But heaven forbid if you have a severe headache or a UTI, and NEED to see a Doctor, or at least be able to get a prescription to relieve your symptoms. I have found the front-line staff to be cold, impersonal and even rude. The criteria unsuited to a Medical Institution/Practice that deals with people with a vast array of personal and medical problems.
I am not a patient at this medical center but I was extremely disgusted that my elderly mother and and another patient older than her had to wait outside for their medical appointments on a 37+ degree day. For a medical center this should never have happened. Shame on you.
The doctors are all lovely but are constantly running late. I generally have to wait half an hour from appointment times to be seen e.g being seen at 10am when my appointment was at 9:30am. This is especially difficult when you have young children to keep entertained in the waiting room. There are now surcharges on Saturday which I was not told about even though I booked over the phone. I feel like whoever owns this practice is trying to turn it into a money making machine, overbooking doctors and adding in surcharges. All this at the expense of its patients. I'll be looking for another surgery. It's disappointing as it never used to run like this.
Dr Mkandala cares, which is a rare find. He has never rushed my appointments and I am very happy. Very knowledgable.
Dr Chris Mkulandra is the best doctor. Funny, caring, helpful and efficient. He is making a stressful time for me at the moment more easier. Thank you.
Doctors are nice enough but customer service and care by reception staff is disgraceful. Not able to book immunisations online so needed to phone the centre. I was on hold for over 30mins without speaking to anyone and then their system hangs up with no warning. Wasted over an hour trying to get through to make the appointment. Good luck getting an appointment, I gave up!
They clearly do not respect clients time. I rang ahead, 20 mins before my appointment, to see how late the doctor was as I know that happens quite regularly. Was told 5 minutes. 45 mins later of waiting in reception I'm here writing this review. This is the second time this has happened.
