The older women at the front desk was friendly to me during check in but my partner said she wasn't very polite as he was giving her the key to check us out.nWhen you open the door to the room you are hit with an unpleasant smell and it does stay the entire time you are there, my partner and I believe it is the aircons not being cleaned regularly and the rooms not being aired out, it has a moist, mould sort of smell.nPeople were smoking outside of their room meaning as soon as you open your door, you are met with another foul smell.nI actually stayed at Alara on our second stop in Mackay and was so disappointed we stayed at the galaxy the first time around.
Staff very nice, pool was great, included a slide. Facilities were excellent, modern bathroom, Netflix. Excellent value for price. Extremely clean.
I stayed here one night after a last minute booking. Staff were very polite and accommodating. The building is old but very nicely renovated with the room very fresh clean and tidy. Certainly recomend this hotel and would defeinitely stay here again.
booked four large family rooms, rooms were clean and bathrooms are renovated and nice. late check-in was easy and convenient. Covered parking is 2.4 m only so had to park my van on street. linen and towels were clean. Great price and good place to stay.
Stayed recently with my daughters and we were very impressed with the service and cleanliness. Two of us are actually housekeepers for premium clients and the standard of cleanliness at Galaxy was A1. Will stay there next time for sure.
