Story

Sterling is a dedicated contemporary jewellery and object retail store, situated in the heart of Sydney's CBD. We are located on the ground floor of the gaffa gallery creative precinct in the original ‘enquires room’ of the heritage-listed c.1891 Clarence St Police Station. Sterling profiles some of Australia’s most promising emerging makers, as well as showcasing, jewellery, glass and ceramics from talented Australian and New Zealand artists and designers.

Sterling not only presents the final product, but also promotes a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the processes involved in the handcrafted object. Screening images of makers at work, scans of concept sketches and early mock-ups, it allows the customer to garner a further education into the ever-growing popularity of the contemporary jewellery and object market.
