Story

Welcome to Fusion Art Bar &Tapas.

The challenging and crazy life of an artist!
This simple, yet inviting space was created with YOU in mind!
I wanted people to feel welcome and
relaxed, enjoy good wines and tasty food, whilst appreciating the works of local artists in a unique
atmosphere. For me it was a flippant thought that has taken over 8 months to put together.
Gathering very old pieces of furniture, (somebody right now is probably sitting on a 1920’s commode) endless days
of stripping and sanding old chairs, then reupholstering. - Even the fabric is a print from an original artwork too.
Working with other artists to make specific pieces, (husbands come in handy here), modifying my own pieces, finding timbers to make the lights and upcycling items to make them functional.
The small details like sourcing the handmade cutlery and having most of the ceramic ware made for us specifically, even the leather menu covers are handmade. Look closely at the print on the cover - another
local artist at work.
It would have been much quicker and cheaper to get everything ready made from a supplier/manufacturer, but I wanted something unique, perhaps provoke a conversation.
Fusion Art Bar &Tapas is purely a passion, as I am an artist myself , this is where my heart lies.
UnderArt Gallery, next door was opened many years ago - 2009, and always supporting artists as a whole, I very much consider winemakers and chefs artisans in their own right, so to me this is a perfect marriage, therefore this is Fusion.

Delicious food and exceptional service, despite how busy it was. Really unique decor/cutlery and interesting experience of being attached to the art gallery next door. We ordered the beef short rib soft and melts off the bone, prawns amazing crispy flavour, my favourite dish, oysters super fresh, brussel sprouts delicious! and spectacular dark chocolate mousse for dessert. They did not miss a beat and every dish was truly superb. If you only have a few nights in Cairns, do your tastebuds a favour and enjoy a meal here pronto. You will not be disappointed.

Words can't describe how amazing this experience was at this restaurant! Everything from the drinks to the food even the atmosphere was so fantastic!  We tried all the cocktails on the menu and had two rounds of tapas and all of it was so delicious! The owner of the restaurant came over to check in and make sure we were enjoying our meals  It was such a fantastic night! 10/10 would recommend

Food was all very tasty. Crispy chicken was juicy and delicious. The deep Fried ice cream is a must get! Service wasn’t great though. Had to wait long time to order our food.

Very delicious food and lovely presentation.  It was really a good experience to sit in this cozy art gallery and enjoy great dishes. BTW, service was pretty good as well.

I am a Local Cairns Artist that has many of my works hanging in Fusion Art Bar and Tapas, also in UnderArt Gallery next door for over 5 years now. A lot of people buying art are concerned for the Artist, are they getting a good enough commission, are they being treated well and getting paid on time etc. I would like to leave a review as a Artist represented by this business. They have been a pleasure to work with, they do look after the Artist in every way. Iefje and her team have lifted my career as an artist, putting my work on an International platform, with collectors from many many countries, having work sent to them from out of Cairns. I would like to thank them for their support, and insure anyone browsing their beautiful space, they are a establishment of good ethics, serving their community well. I am very proud to be hung here.

Awesome and different food. we had 4 tapas dishes and potatos. Each dish was yummy! We enjoyed our visit. Its a cute little place worth visiting!

Looking for a special place to relax have drinks with your friends and cap it off with some food then Fusion is the place to go. The staff are happy to help you with your every need and nothing is to much trouble. The owner chats with everyone and makes them feel at home. Fusion is just a great place to be.

Tasty food and desserts, I think next time I would sit inside to get more of the vibe, we went on a Saturday night and they were quite busy but we didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive. The wait staff were friendly too.

What a pleasure to discover this tapas bar.  The staff is very kind and professional.  The meal was delicious, music was nice and the atmosphere was warm.  To be recommended without hesitation.

The flavours are sensational. Very friendly service. A massive wine / beer selection. Did I mention the flavours. Wow. Beautiful. Relaxed comfortable and cool.
