From the time I registered to do my open water course everything flowed along without any issues. I received expert advice and assistance when purchasing my gear and plans were made and delivered upon as promised to get the sizes I required. The first dates were re-scheduled timeously for medical reasons without any problems and I completed my training 19 and 20 September 2015. I am a trainer/assessor in my day job and I encountered a perfectionist in our instructor. Matt was concerned about our progress throughout the 2 days and was very aware of where we were at and our progress. If something wasn't done right the first time it had to be re-done until there were no glitches and he was comfortable to sign us off. To complete the course we were pressed to learn the fundamental safety requirements and perform them without hesitation. We were well looked after during the course and the experience was above and beyond what I expected. I feel safer going to dive now and I am glad that I had the trainer that I did as I have been trained to survive and enjoy my diving. Thanks to Craig, Matt and Sam for your help and making this an enjoyable, safe and well worth-while experience. KB
"Dodgey Dive Shop" is what they should change their name to. 01 July 2015 My first contact with this shop was via email asking about lessons. They emailed right away and said to come in and pick up the study materials and to put down a deposit. 04 July I stopped in the shop and their credit card machine was "down" so did I mind paying cash? Fine whatever, a minor inconvenience but I was signed up for weekend lessons for the 11th and 12th. Friday 10 July 5:05PM I get a "late notice" via email to let me know that their one instructor has a lung infection and that lessons would be rescheduled for the next weekend. Thursday 16 July I get an email apologising for another cancellation and that lessons are rescheduled for the 25th and 26th! I went into the shop to cancel and request a refund but the owner, wife and dog convince me to hold out and take lessons on Aug 8th/9th Finally on Aug 8th I show up and the owner tells me their credit card machine is still down! Did I mind going to the cash machine and getting the remaining cash I should have declined, but I'm an ethical person and had no reason to think this was dodgey. It was only me and one other person taking lessons that was schedued for 8AM to 2:30PM with a lunch break. Unfortunately the other person did not do her reading so we had to spend 2 hours in the shop going over material. We finally get to the indoor pool that was NOT heated which they initially said would be. After being in the pool for approx 2 hours I told the instructor I was feeling a bit tired and needed a 10 min break and perhaps we could break for lunch? He angrily snapped "we have a lot to get through and you're not even close to halfways done for the day" I insisted on having a break since I did not feel well. Instead of trying to determine if I was having trouble breathing, if I was dizzy, whatever the instructor was so focused on rushing us through the material. It wasn't until I VOMITED that he realized I was seriously unwell. If this is the way the instructor is with a new learner in a "controlled" environment, I have no desire to go into an "open dive" i.e. ocean or marina with him. I contacted the shop to say I would not return for the second day and requested a partial refund. I realize costs are involved and requesting a partial refund is reasonable. However the owner insisted on his "no refund" policy and suggested I finish the course at a later date. No thank you. I don't have money to throw away but my safety and well being comes before money. But to everyone else...be warned...this is a dodgey dive shop
Booked a diving course through the Myaree company with a Groupon. Very disorganised and very hard to get in contact with. They dont pick up the phone, or reply to any emails. Booked my course in a month and a half in advance. I then told my friend to call up and book his a few weeks later. When he did, he was told I was not booked in for any days, so they hadnt written me down. I then get a call about a week before my course date to ask to pay for my elearning.. I already had, and again they had no record of this. They then never sent me my elearning, after me calling them multiple times a day, and sending emails. I finally got it the day before the course.. not much help there. The course itself ran quite smoothy. Our instructor Mandy was very good, and very patient with some of the other students who were struggling who probably shouldnt have been passed as they didnt complete the excersises to a satisfactory level. Unfortunately we were her last class before she moves.
poor service. took 5 attempts to book a snorkel cruise from a voucher i had bought on scoopon. after finally getting onto someone that could help they told us they were fully booked out, we explained we were on holiday till such date was there any chance of getting in before we went home. the guy told us he could fit us in on day as there was only 2 of us. we were told we would receive an email about detail straight away, a week later and two phone calls still no email. only to have the day before we were to go they rang to tell us it was cancelled as there wasn't enough people! we ask could we reschedule before we went home, they told us no as they were fully booked out. rude, unhelpful, waste of money. would never recommend to anyone.
Wonderful day out with Western Australian Dive Academy. We were lucky enough to get a Scoupon deal and it was a bargain to say the least. $55 for 4 hours with lunch. We couldn't have asked for more. All the staff were professional and very friendly. Would definitely recommend and I would like to return.
Great day out on the Boat at Carnac Island! We found the snorkelling deal on Groupon - $55 for a 4 hour trip including an awesome BBQ lunch! Sam was a character & made it a fantastic day out with the Fam! Highly recommended!
Terrible dive shop, steer clear. Booked a boat trip to Carnac Island for two people and instead they took us on a forty minute dive in the river as they "Had a mistake with their bookings" no refund, no apology.
Completely unable to get in touch with this company despite calls, emails and emails to Groupon, to do our PADI open Water Diver course which is supposedly scheduled for this weekend.
