Stock + Ladle Stall at the Fremantle Markets

Story

Stock and Ladle is a fresh idea in food.

Brazilian owner and chef, Roberto Abilio, brings his passion to plate with a menu inspired by street food and healthy living. Hearty soups and flavoursome panini’s form the delicious menu available to eat in or take-away. Try our homemade Gazpacho to cool you down in the heat or the ever popular ‘Cuban’ panini to give your hangover the heave-ho.

All ingredients in our kitchen are grown and bought locally. We believe in delivering the best quality of food to our customers. The stocks for our soups; vegetable, chicken, fish or beef are all made from scratch in house. Our chutneys, pesto’s and pastes are too, allowing us full creativity with an array of natural flavours.

The new range of organic drinks from Soho Exposed is the perfect accompaniment to our food.

Come by on your next visit to Freemantle Markets and see what our menu has to offer.

This market only opens on weekends.nMost of the stalls sell souvenirs, handicrafts, fruits, and clothes aimed at tourists.nThere are some fresh fruits and a few food and drink stalls that look quite appealing.nThe only downside for me is the limited seating area for diners, and the stalls aren’t particularly impressive if you’re looking to buy gifts.
I absolutely adore the market and the vibrant atmosphere it offers. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Perth. This place is steeped in history and showcases a diverse array of items, ranging from household goods to beautiful decorations. You can find everything from teas and coffees to unique artisanal products.nDuring my visit, I had the pleasure of tasting some exquisite Australian-made wine and cider, both of which were incredibly smooth. I encourage everyone to sample and purchase these local beverages to support the community's small businesses.nIf you happen to be hungry, you'll be pleased to discover an abundance of restaurants and fast food options nearby, catering to every palate. Overall, this market is truly amazing and has become one of my favorite spots in Fremantle.
Fremantle Markets is a lively and atmospheric destination that plays a big part in the Fremantle experience. Housed in a beautiful historic building, the market has that classic mix of colour, sound, and scent you expect — a real sensory experience that draws locals and tourists alike. It's bustling, vibrant, and at times a bit chaotic, especially on weekends, but that’s part of its charm.nnLike most well-known markets, there’s a clear tourist tilt. Some stalls feel overpriced for what’s on offer, especially those selling souvenirs or imported goods you could find elsewhere. If you're expecting a haven of local produce and crafts, it’s there — but you’ll need to look past the more generic items to find it.nnThere are standout stalls though: local artists, handmade products, some excellent food vendors, and proper barista coffee. A few of the smaller traders have real passion and creativity, and that’s where the market shines. The fresh produce section is also worth checking out if you're after fruit, veg, or something to snack on.nnThe overall vibe is friendly and casual, with a good mix of families, tourists, and locals. It’s a great place for people-watching, grabbing a bite, and soaking in a bit of Fremantle’s unique culture. Just don’t go in expecting every stall to be a hidden treasure — think of it more as an experience than a shopping destination.nnAll in all, it’s definitely worth a visit if you're in Fremantle, especially for first-timers. Just take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and keep your eye out for the hidden gems among the usual fare.
Excellent Market.nTerrific Variety of Stalls and Food options.nWe arrived early so got nearby paid parking.nFor an old building it’s still nice, clean and well looked after.nBeautiful location
Located at South Terrace & Henderson Street, Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia .nThe atmosphere at these markets is so vibrant and uplifting. The range of products on sale is really diverse and unique. I love looking at art and crafts. One of my favourite things when I go to any market if looking for handmade products and there was plenty here. There was also a huge fruit and vegetable section. Everything was so fresh and looked so delicious. I bought some strawberries , so yummy . You could get some wonderful homemade local souvenirs for pretty reasonable prices. There was some great street entertainment also adding to the fun atmosphere, which enhanced our experience of visiting. The market is indoor which protected us from the elements. There was some great food stalls when we got hungry.nThe Fremantle market was established in 1897. It houses over 150 shops for artists, merchants in the historic hall and fresh food producers, vegetables growers in the yard. It is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as most public holidays. It is a popular Fremantle tourist attraction but is also popular with the locals. I had a wonderful time at these great markets. Thumbs up!!!
