It's really handy to get up top of the station and have the ability to shop for things you may need or simply grab a meal before adventuring out. One ticket machine to get back on the station. That is lazy and really awkward after a concert and 120 people want a train ticket.

I was staying a few days in Fortitude Valley.nI found the train station here an excellent way for getting to the airport.nI used the skyrail.nThere were plenty of cafe's and shops inside.nSo if you were waiting for a train have ample things to do to pass the time.nI truly recommend using this service, it makes moving around so much more convenient and easy.nThere is also a supermarket and bottle shop, if you are just arriving.nSo you're able to take food and drinks to wherever you are holidaying.

I had a really disappointing experience at Fortitude Valley station with one of the Queensland Rail staff members. The man in the kiosk large build, bald with a grey beard, sitting in a swivel chair was appallingly rude and dismissive.nnWhen I approached the kiosk to ask for assistance, he asked what I needed in a sluggish, unamused tone. I explained I wanted to purchase three go cards, but he responded by saying, “it would be cheaper if you use your Eftpos card.” I explained that my family is visiting from out of town and that having go cards makes it easier for them to travel independently, top up themselves, and explore the city. Instead of being helpful, he rolled his eyes before reluctantly processing the cards.nnNo one should be made to feel like a nuisance when asking for assistance, especially in a customer service role. A little respect and professionalism goes a long way — this experience left a very poor impression of Queensland Rail’s frontline service.

Contrary to where this station is, its not too bad.  It's super easy to get to from anywhere in the valley.
