Biggest disappointment! Coffee was flat, not fluffy foamy like everywhere in Melbourne. My omelette was super salty- and I do like salt. The salad was salty . Being German and married to an Austrian I was expecting great bred. The toasted sourdough looked crunchy and golden but unfortunately was hard like a rock. It was extremely noisy and the service was not particularly attentive. Maybe the sandwiches are lovely- they looked tempting but I didn’t try them.
we both went for their new sourdough with macadamia and cashew cream, fresh tomato, roasted grapes, basil and basil oil, and shallot. what a delight!! the cream was beautifully lathered and tomatoes so ripe. complimented with pops of sweetness from the grapes, salty anchovies and peppery basil - this was honestly a mouthful of heaven.nnswipe for the absolutely SPOTLESS plates we practically licked clean. ‍nnalthough pricing is quite luxurious here this was $24 + $6 for anchovies its lunch heaven and a great spot for a little people watching.
Went here for lunch and had to wait a little for a table, but it was well worth the wait. Staff were efficient and friendly, food was great and decent servings, and the location is just perfect. Definitely recommend the foccacia. Such a huge serving and it was so fresh.

However, during our visit, we were seated next to the kitchen, where people were passing by with dirty plates and rubbish bins. I suggest trying to secure a table at the entrance or outside to avoid this issue.nnThe cafe features an impressive display of great-looking sandwiches and pastries that we did not have the chance to sample. The coffee was delicious, but the chai was only average.nnUnfortunately, the service was a bit slow, and they forgot to bring our olives. Moreover, the flow of food was odd, with some dishes arriving much later than others. Nevertheless, the overall quality of the simple, tasty food was commendable, and the pleasant atmosphere made for a satisfying dining experience.nnKeep in mind that wait times during peak periods can exceed 15 minutes, so it's best to be prepared.
