Florence Falls is an absolute treasure in Litchfield National Park, and the Shady Creek Walkway is the crown jewel of access routes! Sure, it's a bit longer, but the journey is half the fun. The walkway meanders through lush greenery, offering serene spots that make you feel like you're in a nature documentary.nnOnce you arrive, the view is worth every step. The falls are stunning, cascading into a pool that invites you in with its crystal-clear waters. However, I must be cautious—watching teenagers leap off high rocks into the pool is a heart-stopper. It's daring but, frankly, quite risky!nnSpeaking of the pool, my video captures a mesmerising underwater world teeming with fish. Can anyone identify these finned beauties? Their graceful dance adds a magical touch to the swimming experience.nnFlorence Falls via the Shady Creek Walkway is a must-visit, offering adventure, beauty, and a touch of the wild. Just keep an eye on those daredevil teens!
Epic!! Went in October at end of the dry and still heaps of water flowing, get there before 10am if you want it nice and quiet
2WD camp was an amazing place to camp! Red-wing parrots, sulphur-crested cockatoos, greater bower birds, pink flowering turkey bush like a soft pink cloud and exciting swimming holes with natural spa pools! Amenities are excellent and Beautiful walks to keep you fit!
Reasonably easy access via 160 stairs, easier to take the woodland walk back to the carpark than the stairs. Much quieter than Wangi falls as its a little more challenging to get there but i imagine its still busy around lunch.
The most popular spot in Litchfield along with Wangi, open most of the time and closest to Bachelor town. ‍Access: There are 2 ways to reach the fall, 1st is via shady creek walk, longer walk but picturesque with tropical surrounding, worth doing, in fact 1 of the best walk in Litchfield. About 20min walk/1km, well maintained, easy steps, can be slippery when wet. The 2nd is via steps approx 150 man-made steel stairs, 5-15mins continuous steps.n Not wheelchair/ pram friendly.n‍The pool is deep, but plenty of space to hang around in the shallow area. Not as spacious as wangi. This is the downstream of Buley rockholes. Can be very crowded. Best to come early in the morning.nToilet + toilet paper + non potable water is available but bring your own handwashing liquid.nNo signal, download offline map, but you won't get lost as there is only 1 road in and out of Litchfield, there are signages around.nCar park is not as big, but there is another car park next door, 15min walk to Florence carpark.nNo stall, bring your own food and drinking watern No rubbish bin inside the national park, carry your own rubbish bin and bring it back home.
