I reluctantly phoned ED due to a positive Covid RAT test, severe sore throat & sleep deprived. Due to public holidays, unable to access my local Dr or chemist. The ED male, on duty receptionist encouraged me to attend in a very professional & cheerful manner. On attending I had a 3 hr wait before moving in to a ED patient bed & then a 1 hr wait before seeing a Doctor. The care & support I received from the young Doctor & nurses was outstanding with a constant flow of information delivered professionally & in a very caring manner. The treatment resulted in a huge reduction in symptoms allowing for a normal night's sleep I am of course very grateful for the care delivered by the amazing ED staff.
I had a medical appointment at Flinders Medical Centre today. I've never been there before, so I was a bit lost, but one of the friendly volunteers showed me exactly where to go. I was anticipating waiting for a couple of hours for my appointment, as it is a public hospital but upon arrival I was surprised to find out that no one was in the waiting room, and I only waited for about 5 minutes! Both the reception staff and the doctor were very friendly. Lovely and clean facility. My only issue is that I couldn't make another appointment on the spot as one of the scheduled tests couldn't be done due to me having taken a certain medication. - That has be done via the referring doctor. Which means a new referral and possibly waiting another 3 months for the new appointment. But apart from that, I'm very satisfied with today's experience. Nothing like I've experienced at the RAH before!
Very impressed with fast treatment in Emergency when Triage saw low heart rate. Into Resuscitation and then Cardiac Unit. The pureed dinner I needed was fantastic. I had a pacemaker fitted next day then transferred to FPH. Thanks go to all the staff for professional and friendly service at a difficult time.
To Womens clinic, Birth and delivery & Postnatal ward 4C! As a first-time mum, the staff provided so much support, education and plenty of face-to-face open time for conversations. I loved the continuity of care towards baby, and also towards how mom’s recovery. I felt really safe, empowered and supported to transition into motherhood. The postnatal care also extended to my partner being a first time Dad. They provided plenty assistance with various topics, such as babies growth, health and breastfeeding, which can be trying at the start. The staff are very positive and extremely knowledgeable. Thank you, postnatal ward 4C for this incredible experience shout out to those who looked after Bronson!! Thankyou midwives
Public hospitals often get a bad rap, but my experience of the ED yesterday made me very thankful for Australia's public health system. Sure, I was there from 10am till about 5:30 but in that time I had exemplary care: an x-ray, pain relief, a MRI and a diagnosis of three broken ribs. All delivered with care and in an expected timeframe. The only downside was the opening hours of the pharmacy which meant I had to track one down on the way home. Thank you kind nursing and admin staff and the treating doctor.
Great labor and delivery ward. OBGYNs and midwives were top notch. Saved my babies' lives both times I delivered there. The midwives are so pleasant to be around especially during long labors. There were some hiccups here and there with some staff 5 tries for an epidural placement for second labor - first labor was one try perfect results... Worst thing was being served someone else's leftover food from Spotless staff - don't worry it was visibly leftovers I didn't eat it..I guess that's what happens when you trust such companies to provide a service. Flinders as a whole has been a good hospital with better and faster service than the RAH or WCH for example.
Highly recommend I’ve got ulcerative colitis and a bad flare. Came close to loosing my bowel all the doctors and nurses were fantastic with me. And to be honest the food was amazing loved all of it. Keep up the great work everyone who works here.
The doctors and nurses are great, but the customer service attending to phonecalls are atrocious. Lost my pair of glasses this morning after the food tray was collected. Told the nurses about it the moment I realised, and they helped search the room, my bags, and everywhere else possible within the ward. They then checked the food trays, and realised that the rack containing my tray was already taken back to the kitchen. Nurses contacted the kitchen department, and nothing was heard from them even after close to 6 hours. I then called the kitchen department's phone number, giving them my ward and bed number and asked them if they could check with the staff that collected the tray. Was refused outright, and told that there was nothing they could do unless it was returned.
Avoid...admitted for right sided abdominal pain radiation to back and unable to eat. Transferred to FPH doctors were rude condescending and denied pain relief. Told they ran out of time to have prescription signed so had to go without pain relief overnight. Discharge letter was not completed in full and had wrong admit reason listed. Asked Dr for her name and was told kirsten from hep bil surgical team. Would not give any other details. Told my issue was not surgical. Have already been reassessed and determined my gall bladder needs to be removed. FPH should be ashamed of yourselves and FMC. Disgusting treatment of a patient absolutely inexcusable. Surgery to be done at ashford with a reputable surgeon.
From the moment I limped into the hospital Kaos.!! But the staff where fantastic Working like a Rolex everyone in time was seen too. We'll Done to all...
