We discovered Flame Hill after a weekend hiking around Montville while staying near Lake Baroon. We'd driven past the vineyard several times and finally decided to stop in—and we're so glad we did!nnWe ended up trying the Shiraz. It was absolutely delicious, smooth, rich and full of flavour. It was the perfect way to finish a day exploring the Hinterland.nnWe only wish we could have taken a bottle home with us! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. Beautiful setting, friendly service and wonderful local wine. Highly recommend stopping in if you're visiting Montville.
A really enjoyable birthday lunch with great food, wine, and even better service.nBeautiful views, accommodating staff, and a relaxed vineyard vibe.nWe went to Flame Hill Vineyard for a birthday lunch and honestly had such a great time. The setting itself is beautiful, and the team were lovely from the moment we arrived. They were more than happy to accommodate our request for a table with a nice view, which made the whole experience feel a bit more special.nWe started with a puff pastry dish with ham can’t remember the exact name, and it was really good. For mains, we had the beef and the salmon, both were cooked really well and full of flavor. Dessert was the Crêpes Suzette, which was definitely a highlight and a perfect way to finish.nWe also did a wine tasting, which was a great experience, and ended up buying a bottle to take home. The staff were super friendly and made everything feel easy and relaxed without being over the top.nOverall, just a really nice place for a special occasion or even a casual day out. Great food, great wine, and genuinely warm service.
Came here for lunch with my lovely partner and we weren't disappointed! The views were amazing, fresh air, rows of vineyards from the verandah where we were seated, lovely sounds of birds and cows in the distance. The service was great, food was well presented, tasted delicious and was very well portion. Partner had a beef bourgeon, I had the salmon and two different desserts which were amazing! Great selection of wine pairings, they also sell them by the bottle. Highly recommended and would definitely come again.
ame Hill Vineyard is an absolute must visit. The location is beautiful with such a relaxing farm-style atmosphere surrounded by chickens, roosters, cows and ducks which made the whole experience feel really special and unique.nnThe staff were incredible and so accommodating, even bringing out blankets for everyone as the weather became chilly which was such a thoughtful touch.nnThe food was excellent. The slow-cooked braised beef cheek was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, rich in flavour and beautifully paired with the Merlot. The pumpkin pesto gnocchi was also outstanding and paired wonderfully with the Verdot.nnEverything about the experience felt warm, welcoming and well thought out. Definitely a standout winery experience and somewhere we would happily return to.
Our experience at Flame Hill was amazing and I have already recommended them to some friends visiting the area soon. We attended as a group of 10 for a Hens Party as part of a tour I’d planned. From the first phone call when I was making enquiries to the booking and then the day itself I cannot fault the experience or service. The wines we tasted were absolutely beautiful and the ladies were very knowledgeable. I will absolutely visit again if I am in the area!
