We also offer an outdoor toddler pool and a spa, sauna and steam room, gym and group fitness studio.In the 1990s amazing community activism saved the pool from closure. Our famous Aqua Profonda sign is heritage listed honouring our multicultural history. The front entrance of our centre also features Steven Bakers eye-catching iconic mural.Our facility is on Alexandra Parade, Fitzroy between Brunswick Street and Smith Street, on the corner of Young Street.To ensure everyone can access Fitzroy Swimming Pool, we have disability parking, an entry ramp, pool ramp access and accessible change rooms."

Pretty good, have definitely seen better but it’s just a 50m outdoor pool. If that’s what you’re looking for it’s definitely worth the trip.nnPool is not super heated so if you stay in one spot you’ll go cold.nnPlenty of clean changing facilities, I really enjoyed the outdoor hot shower to rinse off after the swim.nnPool is on the old side, but relatively clean. Bits of debri and strange shapes on the bottom of the pool so not 100% clean.nWent around 2pm on a Monday and it wasn’t that busy, managed to get a lane to myself.nnParking is very annoying; you need to find a free spot on one of the one way streets around the place.
Big pool, lots of lanes, nice water temperature. Sauna & steam & jacuzzi. Nice 100m steadyvpace.
One of the best outdoor heated 50m pools around! A real sense of community spirit, clean & friendly staff. Love it!
I love the Fitzroy pool but the whole place is in desperate need of some TLC. The gym was recently closed for a refurb where they did nothing to fix major issues with the layout of the space and even removed some equipment bar bells and haven’t replaced them. Getting a locker downstairs has become impossible with half the lockers missing doors or out of action indefinitely. No sign of any progress being made coming into summer.
We visited the pool on Monday, 30 March at 10:30 am with my NDIS participant.nnA blonde woman who appeared to be in her 40s or 50s was at reception, and unfortunately the way she handled the situation was very disappointing.nnShe refused to let us enter because my participant did not have a Companion Card, but instead of explaining the policy calmly and respectfully, she did not manage the situation appropriately and made my participant feel invalidated and unsupported.nnWhat made the experience even worse was that another male staff member/customer nearby seemed to laugh or make light of the situation, which made both my participant and me feel very unsafe, embarrassed, and unwelcome.nnAs support workers, we often accompany vulnerable participants who rely on community access for their wellbeing, confidence, and social inclusion. The lack of empathy, poor communication, and dismissive attitude shown today created unnecessary distress.nnThis was a terrible customer service experience, and I hope the team can provide better disability awareness and trauma-informed communication training so other participants do not have to go through the same experience.
