Story

Sitting next to the historical Edinburgh Gardens, the Fitzroy Victoria Bowling & Sports Club has experienced a renaissance in recent years both as a part of the local community and as a bowling club.

The "new" Club, formed in 2000, is an amalgamation of the Fitzroy Bowling Club (formed 1877), the Victoria Bowling Club (formed 1876) and the Edinburgh Park Ladies Club (formed in 1947).

The club is a hub for barefoot bowlers for many social occasions such as birthdays, hens and bucks nights, as a wedding reception or for corporate get togethers. It is not uncommon to see people in all sorts of fancy dress either.

Since the amalgamation the club has not looked back and now fields 5 Pennant teams, has 2 synthetic greens and facilities that are the envy of many.

The club is open 7 days a week and, with facilities and the greens for hire for both corporate and social events, it is a hive of activity most days and nights.

The bowling club is in the City of Yarra council's Edinburgh Gardens Sporting precinct.

We host all types of functions and events including social functions, corporate events, end of year work parties, bucks parties, hen parties engagements, weddings, post-wedding functions, fundraisers, charity events, kids birthday parties and more.We can cater all size functions from as few as 10 guests up to 250 guests. We have 11 outdoor spaces for hire and a ten rink green- the largest social bowling green in Victoria. We also have 2 indoor spaces for hire, which come fully equipped with AV setup.Situated within the sporting precinct of Edinburgh Gardens, our beautiful location is a prime spot for you next event- we even have our own tram stop for the tram 11 line!"

Organised our work Christmas party here and everyone had a great time.  Extremely well priced at $200 per lane for 2 hours and the place was so full with every land being used. Drinks prices are good with a decent range and all of the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend considering this as an option for a get together

Thank you so much Jacob and the team at Fitzroy Victoria Bowling & Sports Club for making our Mum's 80th Birthday Party such a great success. The Marquee & Bar, food and staff were all perfect. We all had a fabulous time.

Fitzroy bowls is a great place for an afternoon beer even if you're not in the mood for bowls. There's a decent clubhouse, good beers on tap, tunes playing outside, and friendly locals. If you're looking to enjoy a roll, the pitches are all synthetic and the garden surroundings are beautiful.

Booked some alleys for a company Christmas party, the booking process was nice and smooth.  The Aussie BBQ, grazing platter and dessert platter from their caterer were great!  The staff were nice, friendly and the place was well-maintained

A lot of Bowls Clubs I've been to tend to not respect that at high level play its incredibly important to be able to give the bowl a quick taste to identify the perfect amount of trajectory and speed I should play it at but this club unlike Preston Bowls Club always lets me give the bowl a quick slobber.

Very relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff and inclusive venue.  The only slight issue is that they could use a bit more shade. Where people wait for their turn or watch from and a little more seating around the green. Otherwise fun!

Went for a bucks, first time at lawn bowls and had a great time. Friendly atmosphere, relaxed vibey place to relax and also have BBQ too

Great venue for a work function! So much fun. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food by caterers was amazing, we had the Greek package and no one complained!

Fun and lively atmosphere, everyone is quite welcoming and inclusive, seemed like hundreds of barefoot bowlers were using the bottom green. There is always bar staff non bowlers available to make bar purchases

Good place for a work party. Staff were friendly. Bar prices are pretty standard, but not as cheap as people would think.
