Great and friendly service, got the meat platter and it was divine, meat were cooked to perfection and juicy. Lovely and romantic atmosphere. Great for family dinners or a romantic meal
Very good, everything perfectly cooked. Beautiful interior. Plenty of parking.
Have wanted to come to this place for ages and finally did on Friday night. It was a cold night so it was nice coming in and the waiter was happy to put the fire on for us, and seated us right in front of it. We shared the eye fillet which was cooked beautifully, however a bit over-priced and definitely not enough for sharing, but we did want to try the Queen Margherita as well which I think was a little bit over the top with the cheese and not enough tomato and basil, not the best pizza I have had but acceptable price was reasonable. We also tried a lovely Argentinean wine. Overall we had a lovely night as we were looked after well by the staff and look forward to going back.
This restaurant never fails to disappoint whenever we crave for steaks. Their chimichurri sauce that goes with their beef slabs is surprisingly tasty. For entrées, I highly recommend their picada. Even if you are a really hungry steak monster, their picada is already filling But then again, it's good for two people. Also, their customer service is noteworthy. Aside from relatively speedy service for a fine dining establishment, they make sure their patrons are not only well fed but have a pleasant dining experience. One particular instance had us dine there so very late at night; I guess we arrived one hour before it closed. And even though we were concerned that most places have their kitchens close at least half an hour before closing, to our surprise, they still accommodated us. And we were at least grateful that our food didn't taste/feel like it was rushed when it was prepared. The steak that we ordered was still as delectable as before. Side note, all my experiences happened at dinner, so I am not sure if they are also consistent during lunch. They also serve pizza, but we haven't tried it yet.
Adelaide has its fair share of steak/ribs places with Argentine flavour. This place impressed me with its quality and serving sizes we tried the ribs the mixed meat platter a fillet steak and all dishes where full of flavoursome. The waitress Natalie I think her name was perfect so accommodating and helpful with the types of dishes the bill $300 three adults and three children mad or a great night all round
We came to Fire on Unley as a group of 5 on Saturday night. I ordered an eye fillet at $43 and asked for it to be cooked medium well and my sister ordered the same thing. The steaks came out very very well done and it took over 10mins to get the waiter's attention. He finally came over and when we explained the steaks were over cooked he went to speak to the chef and came back confused asking if I wanted it medium. I again said medium well or medium plus but he was arguing that it was medium well despite it being rock hard. It seemed he didn't know what medium well meant which is pretty odd for an Argentinean steakhouse. So I just asked for the steak to be taken off the bill. He quickly agreed and took the meal away. When we got the bill we noticed that they had in fact charged us $20 for the meal that was taken away! Not once did the waiter mention a word of this or I would have asked for them to make me another one rather than be charged for something that was so tough I couldn't eat. His excuse was that the manager forced him to charge us even though we spent more than $250 there... Well now I'll be telling everyone I know about this experience and never returning to the restaurant again. Hope the $20 was worth it! Ps. 2 people in our group got sick later that night from the food so I'm actually glad I didn't get to eat. Fire on Unley you've really gone downhill since the new owners took over. Well done! ;
Took my mum for lunch...oysters for starters were big and delicious...mixed grill for two was HUGE! waitress was friendly and up for a chat...pricey but with the entertainment discout of 25% off made the experience affordable...if your a meat lover i recommend fire!
Never write negative reviews but when customer satisfaction is neglected, that's when I get fired up. Overall price for the quality of food is too high, especially for the time to wait for meals. I've been here on a fair few occassions and noticed recently the decline of quality since new management. Noticing things here and there that have change that are stingy AF... All for more profit? In the expense of customer's satisfaction. The pizza is amazing though, the wood-fired pizza is a unique feature of the restaurant I'll give it that, and requires fair bit of skill to make good pizzas. Please keep everything else on par like it used to be
I have never posted a negative review - there is usually something redeemable about most places, however..... We booked at Fire on Unley after a friend had suggested it but we will never go back again. The fire oysters resembled nothing like their description - instead they were mushy and floating in an over abundance of sauce - no shallots, capsicum or crispy pancetta to be found. The meat was salty, dry and over cooked. Once our orders were placed we received no service unless we hailed a passing waiter. We were never offered more drinks, dessert or coffee. The restaurant wasn't busy - the head waiter found time to chat and laugh with his co-workers instead of checking on his diners needs. He seemed unconcerned when we reported how disappointed we were with the dry, over cooked meal. All in all it was a disappointing and expensive $250 for 4 birthday celebration. Management should take note of the reviews they are getting!
I had a bad experience with the steak as we ordered 1 well done which came out rare, the second steak we ordered was meant to be medium rare and came out blue. The other two my friends ordered came out fine but we couldn't enjoy eating together. The chimichurri sauce was not extra and after our experience they didn't offer us a discount or even drinks complimentary.
