Tried the $60 weekday eats set menu - very good value, with antipasto entree sized, main, large dessert and a drink!nnFor the antipasto, the creamed almond was the clear winner. The rilletto was also very nice, and the straciatella was adequate.nnFor the mains, the mafalde corte pesto was incredible. The spaghetti and rigatoni were a little bit lackluster. The pork and pappardelle were both very nice, but not outstanding.nnThe tiramisu was delightful; not too much coffee flavour for those who like it a bit lighter. Very very generous helping too.nnWould definitely come again for the weekday set menu, such a great deal!nnWas a bit loud at times, but to be expected with that many tables and on a busy evening.
I was initially apprehensive about heading out to Gymea for a celebratory lunch, but I was proven wrong.nnJust like our experience at Jane’s - this was fantastic! Food was delicious. Service was exceptional. Atmosphere on the balcony was just perfect for a late spring day. Restaurant is accessible and parking is abundant.nOh and cocktails were yummy too!nnI could not fault any of the dishes and they were all stand out. I highly recommend a visit to Fior. They also offer BYO on weekends.
Overall it was ok. Parking was really quite difficult, guess we chose the wrong day to go with the annual spring fair on and a sunday surcharge.nFood some dishes like roast pumpkin, and the gnocci were pretty good. Everything else was average.
We celebrated my birthday at Fior tonight and we were absolutely happy about the experience. The food was delicious and came in decent portions. The restaurant is very clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and professional, the service was really professional and thoughtful. It’s a nice surprise that we got a complimentary dessert for my birthday too. It was a very lovely evening. Highly recommend.
I honestly wouldn’t recommend spending your time or money here. After hearing so much hype about this restaurant, my expectations were fairly high, but the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The food was very mediocre at best. The salad was overly sour and salty, to the point where it was unpleasant to eat, and the pork dish was especially underwhelming. It tasted low-effort, lacked seasoning, and had very little depth of flavor overall.nnWhat made it worse was the service. The staff came across as unprofessional — napkins were literally tossed onto the table instead of being placed properly, which immediately set a bad tone. We also had to wait around 45 minutes for our food, which might have been understandable if the quality or portion sizes justified it, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. When the food finally arrived, the portions were surprisingly small and definitely not worth the wait or the price.nnI genuinely don’t understand why this restaurant is so hyped up. Between the long wait time, lackluster food, small portions, and poor service, the entire experience felt like a waste. There are plenty of better places to eat that offer much more value and care. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere and saving your money.
