I used Finance Now to part finance a used car purchase late last year.  I have just learned that  Finance Now also issued a card with a credit facility on it, which I didn't request or receive.

I just found out about this mysterious card (which I have never seen or signed for) today, while also learning that someone, somehow got hold of the card and rather amazingly managed to get Finance Now to update my Account Details (over the phone) and activate the credit facility on the card, before the card was maxed out at ATM in Takapuna.  

I reported this to Finance Now immediately, who were oblivious to the apparent fraud.   Two different people at Finance Now were quick to tell me that I am liable for the nearly $1,500 (plus the interest on it presumably).  They are also telling me that it's for me to report this to the police and run round in circles, chasing my tail for the next year or so, while and didn't seem overly concerned, so long as I am being held liable to pay off the money, that they seemingly put in the hands of someone else in error.

I just thought I would share this as I think it's important to know about the level of care and responsibility that a company (especially a financial one) places on protecting their customer's personal data and safeguarding them from fraud.  I will be arranging a loan from my bank ASAP to settle the balance on this Finance Now loan, as my trust has understandably been lost here.

I am waiting to see what, if any resolution Finance Now will make to correct this grievous error, but feel very strongly that everyone deserves a good bit better care than this.

Customer Service takes forever to take calls. Process complicated and frustrating as compared to GEM or Qcard!! Disappointing everytime.
