Came in for dinner on a rainy Friday evening. Greeted at the door by the owner and immediately felt welcome! We ordered a whole range of dishes and every single one was delicious and authentic Greek. The Saganaki and the Mousaka were particular standouts to me. The atmosphere was top notch with a lot of live band in the middle of the restaurant playing some classics. Overall highly recommended!
Had an excellent meal at Filema during my brief stay in Leichardt! I appreciated the attentive service and the warm welcome by Nick, the owner. Too bad I had too little time in Sydney I had to miss their Saturday special. I also earned a new addition to my wine vocabulary: retsina ;-
Very good restaurant for authentic Greek food. They offer live music and you can do a bit of dancing too
Always nice Greek food here. Served by friendly and helpful owners and staff. Usually busy but the owners will find you a table if it is at all possible, best to book ahead Friday/Saturday. Squid is particularly nice as are many other dishes, best for sharing. Reasonable drink prices too, an added bonus. A favourite restaurant on Norton Street.
Great food and warm, friendly and personal service. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived. The owner is absolutely lovely. The food was fantastic and share plates are great for dining as a group. We can't wait to go back!

Amazing experience! Incredible service! The restaurant is beautiful and unpretentious, the whole experience created by Nick who served us was impeccable. The menu was varied and it was hard to make a decision. We asked Nick about platters and he knew exactly what we needed. He took the initiative and delivered a sequence of authentic and incredibly delicious Mezze. From start to finish, the setting, the service, the food itself was incredible! I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know and it will be the benchmark for Greek food and restaurant service everywhere I go. A gem of a place for Norton st Leichhardt. Nick should be proud!
Excellent all round experience, this place has it all - ambiance, accommodating and friendly staff and best of all, incredible flavorsome food! Our host and owner of the restaurant for the evening, Nick, was very attentive and all our dishes arrived in good time. Each dish was rich in flavour and had a very authentic Greek feel. Quite possibly the best dips I have had to date accompanied with light fluffy pita bread that was out of this world and was one of many favourites from our meze style Greek food experience. Will definitely be returning and dare I say my family and I plan to be regulars! Highly recommend this stand out restaurant!
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Filema last Friday evening. It was our first time at this restaurant and wont be our last. It was a busy night for them & I think they may have been understaffed, yet in spite of this the service was prompt and the food ordered came relatively quickly. I think a lot of this had to do with the owner/manager Nick who was working at a frantic pace but super attentive and helpful. All the food we ordered was tasty and the wines on offer were decent as well. At the end of the night Nick was super generous in offering us a complimentary glass each of a traditional Greek dessert wine. They had a couple of guys playing Greek music which adds to the atmosphere but thankfully not too loud that you cant have a conversation. All in all a great experience and would recommend Filema to others.
Awesome restaurant! We stumbled on this looking for an Italian place, and didn't regret it for a moment. On both my visits, there was live music some every enjoyable dancing to watch, thanks to the head waiter. It seams to be a family run place, which adds to a great environment. The food is also awesome, and if you can fit it in defiantly try the desert.
