About

Non fussy, authentic wood fired pizza

"King Ferdinand, King of Naples liked cavorting with the lower class citizens of his city and would disguise himself as a plebeian and sneak out of the palace to eat pizza. His wife Maria Carolina and her younger sister, Marie Antoinette were soon introduced to this poor man’s meal. The Queen would not allow pizza in the Palace, however she did allow Ferdinand to install a pizza oven outdoors at their summer palace, Reggia di Capodimonte. Soon after the King and Queen were hosts to many popular pizza parties."

Why 3 stars? Pizza was great. I liked the pizza base, not too thin and it's crunchy. Beef ragu fettuccine was a bit underseasoned, a touch of salt might lift the dish a bit and I think pasta is a little overcooked but not a big deal. Arancini was good, liked the crunch on the outside and melting cheese in the middle. Tiramisu was nice, not too sweet. However, I had to take down some stars as I almost chipped my tooth biting something hard from pizza. It was quite strange because I didn't expect a little hard round white ball in pizza. Let the waitress knows and they were apologetic and said it might have been from salami. Anyway, I would come back for pizza here. Thanks guys.
Amazing food, service and drinks. We had both pizzas and pastas and everything was perfect. Service was so attentive. Space was very relaxed and had plenty of room for solo dining up to a big group. Definitely recommended to cater to dietary requirements too. Super easy booking system, which allowed me to change numbers when I had to. Kid-friendliness: Good space and not so likely that it would be overstimulating Parking: Plenty of on-street parking Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space to comfortably maneuver around and be comfortably seated Dietary restrictions: Absolutely flexible dietary requirements
Simply amazing wood fired pizza, outstanding service and would come back again. Their pizza dough is a perfect balance of crisp, colour and chew. The toppings are generous but not overbearing. Thank you to the Ferdinand crew for their friendly and attentive service, I will be sure to visit again!
Wait time for food was the longest I can recently remember and no explanation or apology was given. Clam fettuccine was bland with just a simple butter sauce and overcooked clams arranged around the side of the plate, no clam flavour in the sauce. The prosciutto ravioli had nice flavours but the serving size was closer to an entree. Overall very disappointing. Perhaps the pizza is better. Giving this a one star review because this restaurant certainly doesn't warrant the 4.5 star rating it currently has. The are too many other places that offer more satisfying food at better prices.
After visiting this restaurant for my birthday in July and thoroughly enjoying the food, great service and atmosphere we decided to come back, after all, first impressions count. 5 stars for our first visit. We received a generic email inviting us back to dine in again, stating we will be well looked after. We like the area as it’s close and enjoy visiting the cinema there. So, we planned dinner then a movie. Upon our second visit we were very disappointed from the wobbly table, which we mentioned but never followed up on, then the manager brings out a bottle of wine which we didn’t order, and we both thought, this is us getting looked after. But no, this was meant for another table. After that, the waitress confused our meals. I ordered an entree & bowl of chips as my main and partner ordered a pizza. My food came out first and the pizza almost 40 mins later. He had just enough time to literally scoff it down to make our movie in time. We thought what do they mean by ‘well taken care of’ maybe a little discount or a glass of wine each, however this is not not why we came back. We went to pay & no discount applied, after querying the email received, the manager just brushed us off as if he didn’t care much. We walked out a little deflated. Customer service on all levels wasn’t great. Suffice to say, was our last visit to this restaurant.
Menu selection was small, it was very hard to get hold of any waiting staff while we were there. Woodfire pizzas were alright.
My new favourite pizza place! Wow.. so impressed. We had both a vegan the rustico and a non vegan pizza and they were sooo good. The vegan Rustico was amazing. Easily one of the best vegan pizzas I’ve eaten and they had a section of the menu with vegan options. $15 Aperol Sprintz too Highly recommend this place.
Great pizza and the service was amazing. I liked that it was a light and thin base - perfecto. Will definitely be back.
Amazing food, amazing customer service!! The Lamb Gnocchi and pepperoni pizza are highly recommended. If you like your food spicy as most Indians seem to ask them for chilli oil - that'll really getcha! Would definitely go back again and again.
God this place is good. Great produce makes perfect pizza, moreish meatballs and sumptuous salads. Yum. Yum. Yum. Nice vibe, too. And a fire out the back if you’re chilly.
