Reviews
The rooms were gorgeous, the building has been beautifully renovated, and the amenities available in the rooms were really high quality. The Temperance Bar has a great food and drink selection. What really made the biggest impact was the staff, they were all absolutely lovely!
A beautifully restored old hotel with a lot of character and charm. The Temperance Bar is atmospheric and The Dome Cafe is spacious with lovely views out to a leafy green courtyard garden.
“Trying too hard”nSmall room which had modern fittings, but left much to be desired. Original wooden flooring which looked great but was very noisy particularly when other guests walked past outside. Bathroom was tiny and it’s door and particularly surprisingly the toilet door was reeded glass and no in room tea/coffee making facilities.nThere was a shared balcony outside which meant that privacy was only assured by closing the curtains.nThe attached bar had a very large spirit collection but limited food so for something substantial the attached Dome cafe was recommended where you know what you are going to get but is hardly top class.nWe visited in August and the room AC was locked at Heat and we couldn’t change it below 20 degrees so we turned it off altogether meaning the room got stuffy.nStaff went out of their way to be polite and courteous however almost seemed to be trying too hard, strangely offering to carry my bag as opposed to my female partner’s.nWe had an early balloon flight so were out early so didn’t sample breakfast.nOverall I probably wouldn’t stay again unless I had to, but I don’t think it’s worth it.nIf they tweaked the bar menu, unlocked the AC and added some basics in the room i might think again.
Lovely room but the air conditioning unit is so noisy a good nights sleep is not an option.nNeither is a sleep in, as the staff make no attempt at going about their duties quietly.nBar area is very laid out with a great spirit selection
Loved our visit, and what a shout out to Shane who welcomed us to the hotel with a hand shake and a tour around the hotel' Informative and professional with his response to any questions put to him and nothing was too much trouble extremely helpful.nThe rooms were small but clean tidy and modern with access to Tye balcony and coffee facilities. Loved the cocktail bar, and the vibe of the hotel had a Victorian feel about it.nI was a little put off when told that the hotel adjoined a Dome as I am not a fan, but because it was connected to the hotel building it had the same vibe and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recomened thos hotel and also, it would be the first place I would stop again when visiting the Avon Valley and Northam.
