The store is within walking distance and stays open until 11 pm, which is convenient. The cashiers and customer service staff are generally friendly and helpful. However, there are a few issues to be aware of:nExpired or Bad Merchandise: Some items may be past their expiration date, exceed their best-before date, or even be spoiled. For example, as shown in Figure 1, brown rice was found to have molds/worms inside.nPricing Errors: Items, especially those on sale or with discounts, are sometimes charged at higher prices due to system errors I guess. It's a good idea to double-check your receipt to ensure accuracy. Otherwise, you will be overcharged most likely.nIncorrect Weight/Tags: Occasionally, the weight or price tags on items may be wrong. For instance, in Figure 2 left one, right was a beef of a little bit less than 4 kg for a comparison, a tag for pork priced at a discount incorrectly displayed the weight as over 4 kg, when the actual weight was closer to 2 kg. This was likely a mistake by the meat supplier. Fortunately, we noticed the discrepancy before leaving the store.nThe positive side is that the store will refund the price difference if you provide evidence of the mistake. I've also heard that Coles and Woolworths might refund the full price for items with incorrect pricing or that are past their best-before date. Additionally, some stores, sell candies or other goods past the best-before date at reduced or clearance prices. This is an interesting phenomenon.
I was so pleased when Farmer Jacks opened in Como and planned to do my weekly shop here. The meat and seafood selection is not bad but they often sell rotten vegetables and fruit, sometimes with yellow stickers placed strategically over the rotten parts, and they have made mistakes at the checkout overcharging me also. I have no issue with slightly imperfect vegetables and fruit, but selling inedible, rotten produce is not OK.

This store has lots of fresh products arranged neatly. You would love seeing the colourful fruits and veggies on the racks.nnWhat I like visiting grocery stores is looking for different items I don't usually see at the big brand stores.nnAnd this Farmer Jack's does carry those items, giving me more options, although these items can be pricier.nnThe store is bright and clean.nThe checkout lady Linh is very friendly and always smiling, giving me even more better impression about the place.nnPlenty of parking spot, outside and underground with easy access through the lift and flat elevator.
I did give this place a nice 5 star review and was a very regular customer, but whilst they always have an issue with calling more staff to the tills when lines grow, today I waited for my turn only to be told I needed to join another queue due to too many items - there was no sign saying this.nI lefty my trolley and shan't be back.
