Beautiful Italian restaurant! The pizza was delicious. They had some Italian drinks which tasted great! Plenty of vegetarian options. Service was excellent and food was served quickly. Both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. Great ambience indoors. Ample parking is available in the vicinity. Food was reasonably priced.Food: 4/5
We ordered home delivery of ribs half rack of beef, lamb and pork and a pizza. The ribs were so finger licking delicious that I don't even recall the pizza - highly recommended! I haven't had many ribs, but these were way up there compared to much pricier ones I've tried here and overseas.
This place makes great woodfired pizzas! I had the Gamberi pizza and I would recommend it to anyone who likes prawns with a touch of chili. The garlic bread was light, crunchy and not at all oily. The best I've had anywhere. My wife's "Penne Norma" was ok but nothing to rave about. They have a good selection of quality wines and the service was excellent.
We had the fettuccine gamberi and just simple spaghetti bolognaise, it nice and good size .
We visited Farina a week or so ago. It was the first time for us and it will be the last. The restaurant which also incorporates a delivery facility looks tired and old. It’s predominant theme is brown wood with a layout and décor that doesn’t seem to have been upgraded since the seventies. It’s lighting is dim and a bit patchy. Our part of the table was stuck in a corner that was so dim we had to use the torch function on our phones to read the menu. Most of the establishment is hard surfaces which meant noise levels particularly from the rowdy table two rows down made reasonable conversation in our group nearly impossible. But the worst part was the service. It was slow and painful. We waited for nearly an hour to get our first round of drinks. We had to stand up and beckon the waiter to come and take our orders. There was no attention by the wait staff like you get in most restaurant’s – “is everything OK, can I get you some more water, would you like to see the dessert menu, how was the food”. I got the feeling that the waiters just dropped us at the table then forgot about us, going back to talking amongst themselves. And to get the bill was a major exercise. We could have quietly walked out at the end and no one would have noticed. Regarding the food. They have an extensive menu with probably more choices than can be handled effectively ignoring pizzas which are just a variation on a theme. My dish was fine and the couple of others I tasted were OK as well, although the garlic “bread” was a rather limp piece of pizza base. Prices were above average for an Italian restaurant. But the serving size was weird. The smallest pizza would serve at least two people and they offered meter diameter pizzas! Why? Never seen this before. We didn’t investigate sweets. So, not a great experience.
Went for dinner the other night and were so happy to see that they have finally sorted out their service issues. No more staff wandering around aimlessly ignoring the customers, instead the floor staff were friendly and efficient, the food pizza and pasta was, as always, delicious. With local options diminishing it’s great to have a decent Italian again.
This place used to be fantastic and has been a favourite of ours since it opened. But in recent times it's unfortunately taken a downward turn. We decided to give it one more shot last weekend and, sadly, we won't be coming back anymore. The lighting was extremely dim and the light above our heads was flickering. We had to squint to read the menus and it gave us headaches. We ordered pizza and were quite shocked at the price. No small or medium option, large only and for $30!! Well, we figured at least they would taste good. Unfortunately, they didn't. My husband got a meat pizza that was average, quite oily and not worth $30. I got the potato pizza. It was undercooked, the dough was raw in the middle, the potatoes were chewy, and it was incredibly oily, heavy and bland. I felt rather ill after eating it. I wouldn't even pay $5 for a pizza like that, let alone $30!! The staff were very nice but not that attentive. Our table was dirty when we arrived and they seemed to be more fixated on looking like they were working than actually working. At least the strawberry margerita we ordered was very good! Props to the bar for that one. Sadly we were very disappointed in this experience and we won't be returning again unless it improves.
We went there last night - the food was amazing. The calamari fritti are the best that I have ever tasted - perfectly cooked & melt in the mouth. I had the 4 cheese pizza to follow - which was also superb. My 2 daughters, both vegetarian & fussy, stated that their pasta dishes were the best that they had ever had. My wife was also enamored by her risotto dish, which she attacked like a starving wolverine. Overall, a bit on the expensive side, which I really didn't mind, considering the quality & quantity of the dishes. Highly recommended !
Our food was good but the service was simply terrible. A long wait for wait staff to take drink order, she knew nothing about their wine selection or what the other drinks on menu were. Entree plates were not cleared until waiter realised there was no room on table to serve mains. When mains were served, there was no cutlery. After a 5 minute wait and a walk to the kitchen I got it ... a knife and spoon with which to eat my pasta dish! Come on owners/managers train your staff. We will not return and I do not recommend this restaurant. Dined on 28 Nov 2022.
Food here is always amazing. Some of the best Italian in Sydney's North. But the last few times I've been here the service has been really bad. Staff are walking around, but working their hardest to not make eye contact. Today it took 20+ minutes for them to take our order, and had to wave to get their attention.Food: 5/5
