Really enjoyed the food here! The dumplings were spot on, just like I’d expect. We tried wontons in chilli sauce - very delicate; prawn steamed dumplings, soy eggplant dumplings could use more soy but great and xialong bao. All of them were delicious! Had tried stir fried chicken with pepper and chilli - it turned out to be deep fried but the taste was good anyway. Loved the availability of chilli oil, soy sauce and vinegar too. Would definitely come back for casual night dumpling fix
I agree with Robbert’s comment about quality. Been a customer for a while and very much enjoyed your food until now. The dumpling skin was quite thick especially on the Xiaolongbao, the pan fried pork & garlic chive dumplings were not beautifully crimped parcels but folded rectangles fried on one side. The chewy pastry corners not very palatable. However, the most inexcusable finding in my opinion was the quality of the pork, it was flavourless and poorly processed with stringy bits of sinew which got stuck between my teeth and several pieces of hard cartilage or bone which I had to spit out. This is why you deserve only one star. Finally I observed that the dark haired young waitress was in the dumpling kitchen being shown how to make the product, had she been wearing a hairnet I may not have noticed but she wasn’t and I did. I think the issues I raised above are easily remedied if you want to address them, but the product you are producing now in my opinion is worlds apart from what it once was. Good luck.
The staff here are wonderful. I went with my family for a special occasion and being the only vegan at the table I wasn’t sure I’d get anything good to eat. The eggplant and veggie dumplings were both delicious! Sometimes veggie dumplings can be boring / hit or miss but these were tasty with delicious filling. Most of all, after a mix up with egg fried rice, the staff made extra effort to make sure I got some without egg. I’m aware it’s not always easy to prepare dishes to be vegan so I was very grateful they were so helpful and considerate. Thanks to the team at Fangs for a great meal and fantastic service
This place is one of our favourite local restaurants. We love not only dumplings but also other dishes such as Poached Fish Fillets in Hot Chilli Sauce. This is actually spicy but not just a spicy. It is also very tasty.
Over the past 4 years I have become a regular at Fang Cremorne - both dining in and taking away. Since Fang decided to branch out to other locations last year, there has been a noticeable, significant drop in food quality and service at the Cremorne branch. This week was the low point when I ordered take-away and had to speak to 3 staff members as the first two hardly spoke any English. When I unpacked my order at home it turned out that more than half was not what I had ordered. And quality was also below par. I was told that most of the Cremorne staff has been moved to the new locations to get those branches up to speed. Makes sense but it has come at a big cost. Truly hope they re-focus on where it all started and bring back those great food experiences!
I am Chinese and I would say this is exactly what I had in my country. The authentic and traditional Chinese food. Sooo delicious! I come regularly to ease my homesickness :. Best dumpling place in Sydney, keep up the great work!
The dumplings are very good. I spent years in Singapore and the xiao long bao are as tasty and prices are reasonable with a good choice of wines. The staff is nice and friendly. A very good place in the area.
My favourite dumpling house in Sydney! I come here as often as possible and just graze on hand-made dumplings for hours. So delicious. Kid-friendliness: Friendly staff Parking: Lots of street parking close by Wheelchair accessibility: Flat surfaces and ramps
The service was rushed and borderline rude. The dumplings were good but the fried rice has frozen vegetables in it and the Mongolian beef was oily as hell and not tasty. We would never go there again.
The server was a little bit slow after order but tasted good. Will try noodle next time.
