My personal experience after multiple contacts/orders with evolve: products are generally good, prices are high, customer service is rude and ultra defensive. I have nothing against the company, just had several issues with the products and orders which have not been dealt with in cordial/friendly manner by them which has led to this review.nnJust one last example: My online order #AU83531 came with a product missing and when I questioned Evolve they said that technically I didn’t need to purchase that item. Excuse me ? If I put in the cart and checked out it’s because I need it !nnHow can a company know whether or not the customer needs the item he purchased. I purchased 3 items from the website and only 2 items arrived in my package.nnUpdate 1:nAfter complaint emails they owned the mistake, and shipped the missing item without charging another shipping . Had I not complained I would have just lost that money regarding the missing product.nnUpdate 2:nThey replied this review calling me a liar! They say things written here are lies and half truths. Can you be more specific about which part of ”the order #AU83531 had a missing product” is a lie? Jesus!nnActually it doesn’t matter, the more they try to explain the worse it gets. Now I’m being accused! Mate I just wanted my order in full . Not here to spread lies about anybody - be real
Be careful of these death traps, brakes lock up completely and board disconnected when I lightly engaged the brakes, same thing happened to my friend Dave and put him in hospital with a full knee reconstruction, thankfully I didn’t end up in hospital, this time. I’ve had my board since may 2024 a renegade, it’s been back on warranty claims nearly weekly for the past month+ and if you don’t live on the Gold Coast it’s a pain, I let them know the issues at support and was met with staff who didn’t want to hear anything I had to say and said it’s not their problem they just fix the boards put it in a email and send it too us, he later apologised and said he’s had 10 other people come in angry at their broken boards, also, I will give them credit as support generally tries to work out solutions to issues and are generous at times giving free consumables like belts for my fuel money dropping the board off but I paid over $3000 for a skateboard I expect quality, it’s had 3 new BMS’s , a new battery and three new motors, so if your warranty runs out, expect to be paying for a new board or a heap of parts every month or so with the luck I’ve had and I haven’t even been riding it hard or often as I broke my back a few months ago. I’ve had two GTR’s, a hadean & now a renegade, I will say they have been amazing when working but now I can’t even step on one without getting anxiety of the brakes randomly locking up & disconnecting down a hill and going flying under a car and it’s all over, no thanks, this needs to be investigated & I thought they would have built a safety mechanism by now preventing this from happening after what happened to Dave. Now my board won’t even connect and the brakes are stuck on with a heap off resistance I had to carry it all the way back to my car after it locking up on me as the resistance is so strong on the brakes I can’t even push it down a hill when turned off without it stopping. People need to be warned of this, people could die if they haven’t already. Awaiting a response and a full refund, this needs to go to ACCC before others die from this, surprised evolve have not fixed this as it’s a newer model board since Dave’s accident and it’s still not resolved. Also disgusted at the marketing of the renegade and so were many others paying $3618 for a new renegade only for a Diablo with betters specs which cost an extra thousand dollar upgrade for $3400, way to look after their loyal customers, not.
Jay was an absolute legend to work with; he was great at communicating the status of my order and quickly came back to me with the many many questions I had.nThe new DIABLO board is the most fun I've had in years! Feels like my own private snowboard/surfboard anywhere and everywhere I go
Hadean battery had failed, spent money on new charger thinking it was charger. Took board into evolve personally and they said it wasn’t there fault, because I left it for 1 month without use it was my problem, I find it very hard to get the time to use my board all the time due to work schedules. They said it would cost me over 1000$ for repairs. Didn’t want to take the chance again if battery failed because of my busy schedules. Loved my time boarding unfortunately had come to an end.
We recently got the GTR skateboard from Evolve, and it’s safe to say we're completely hooked! The craftsmanship and performance of the board are simply unmatched. Me and my partner are obsessed with every detail—he’s constantly amazed by the thought and quality that went into this product. Huge kudos to the team for creating something so inspiring. If you’re thinking about getting an electric skateboard, Evolve is the brand to go for!
