I went to this cinemacinema 2, specifically very recently and was pretty disappointed in the lack of accessibility… I have a connective tissue disorder that causes joint laxity, and a blood pressure disorder as well so as much as I LOVE and appreciate the option of recliner chairs and even the bed seating, I didn’t love having to go all the way down these stairs. The railing disappears part way down, then re-appears right before the row I was in, so getting up and down was actually a bit of a nightmare, even with a cane. I enjoyed the movie, but honestly wanted to cry at the thought of having to travel back up all those stairs when it finished… invisible disabilities are so much more common than people think, and tiny things like recliners ONLY being at the bottom of the stairs or railing not being available the whole way down can really ruin people’s experience, or even put them at risk of injury. My friend and I also weren’t sure where the elevator was, but I’m not sure if that’s a lack of signage issue since I was tired. It won’t put me off coming back, it’s just important to me that fellow zebras are aware of these things so they can plan a lot better than I was able to…
Great range of movies for all age groups and cultures. Theatres are bright and clean and easy to negotiate. Great range of food typical for the movies. Large entertainment area with arcade style attractions
only real choice near Wellington if you want an IMAX cinema. theatre is well kept overall and clean. staff are nice too.
We arrived and paid to see the 11.15am IMAX session of MICHAEL. After 5mins of watching the beginning of MORTAL COMBAT, we were told by one of the cinema crew that due to technical issues MICHAEL couldn't be shown.nWe decided to stay to see the 12.15pm ORIGINAL session.nWe were given complimentary tickets. Well during that session, we could see issues with synchronization. Once again we were told that a few minutes was needed to correct it but they apologized and offered complimentary tickets. We stayed to watch but they had missed out part of the film starting too far forward so I went out and told them. I was kinda let down that the film ended at one of his concertsbegan with this concert. After what should have been a 2hr movie ended up getting out 3.15pm.nI will say that I personally enjoyed MICHAEL. We got our complimentary tickets.
The IMAX theatre was great, but the doors only opened right at the set time. So everyone was waiting outside for quite a while which means popcorn is getting cold and ice creams are melting.nnApart from that though the experience was amazing! Nicest IMAX seats in the country since the only other one is in Auckland which is older
