It is called The House now. I had great experience at the lounge. Nice ambience and view. Delicious chicken musukhan. Great service. The staffs were friendly. One great service I have to mention when I ordered Port. I like Port. Unfortunately, they don't serve Port. Surprisingly, one of the staffs approached me and gave me suggestion of an Australian wine which has sweet taste like Port. I tried and enjoyed the suggested wine.
Small selection of food. One hot dish. No self serve alcohol. But attentive staff, quiet atmosphere.
Excellent very clean and tidy_ people kind and helpful _food very tasty
Decent food, open bar and a view of the tarmac outside. Rather classy.
Pretty good lounge, good bar with a good selection of wines, bubbles and spirits. Staff are very friendly and happy to accommodate requests. Food in the a la carte section is very nice and for me at least came quickly. Impressed by staff offering drink suggestions based on what was previously ordered. There's no denying it's a smaller space and I imagine it gets quite busy at times. I've only been here for early morning flights and it's always been fine at that time. WiFi is surprisingly good and there are pleasant views across the tarmac as the lounge is just above ground level. Subsequently there are stairs to negotiate.
Now called The House, operated by No1 Lounges. Experienced this lounge when operated by Etihad. Only negative changes are French champagne is no longer on offer, and there is no dedicated first class area. First world problems. Menu offering is much improved, and the staff are fantastic. Sanish behind the bar is a legend, and the manager from London is wonderful sorry didn't catch her name! Very good wine offering sadly sans French. Cocktals made to order. Delicious a la carte and buffet. Small but well equipped family room. Excellent toilets and shower facilities, very regularly cleaned. L'Occitane products. Bidet in the toilets too, a rarity in Aus! Rainforest shower head, very roomy shower. Only one each though. Great tarmac view. Main physical drawback is the lounge is small for the volume of traffic.
Really disappointing experience as a First Class passenger. The menu sounded good but food wasn't delivered after more than 45 mins. Glasses and plates left around and not tidied away from tables that quickly and this wasn't at a busy time. The view is okay, as is the bar.
Ventilation is not getting through in the dining section where I am at. A la carte food selection is limited. Food plantation is good but taste is ordinary. Was here on X'mas eve evening. This lounge is for both Virgin and Etihad flights but I suspect only the latter comes with a la carte menu of 4 or 5 main course selection.
I have been here when it was run by Etihad and now that it is privatley run there are some noteable differences. The Good - better selection of food and very attentive service from wait staff. The Bad - The concierge can no longer help you with any flight amendments or queries. The Ugly - they no longer offer the locker service for carry on luggage. As this is a tight lounge already it was made even worse with lots of carry on suitcases taking up walking space.
I flew Sydney to Abu Dhabi in Aug 2018. Etihad service is attentive but not intrusive and perfectly paced for the 14 hour flight. Flat bed is comfortable, the dona is better than competitors, food and drink options very good. Entertainment was fair at best. Overall an excellent product and no hesitation in recommending.
