I am only writing this review to warn others of my experience with Esther from Estella Style and Beauty. I had my first appointment with her the other day. After arranging one service with her where I was quoted $150 dollars, I sent through a $50 deposit to secure my appointment. Upon arriving, Esther told me that she couldn’t do the original service we’d agreed upon allegedly because my hair was too long and thick. She then convinced me to get a different service which I reluctantly agreed to as I wanted my hair nice for the weekend. Before she started the other service, I specifically asked her how much it would be. She clearly told me that it would be $100, which was the same price I had left to pay for the previous service. Once she finished my hair, she asked for my card, and typed in $300 into the eftpos machine without telling me. When I saw the amount was 3 times the quoted price, I questioned her on it. She then said that my service cost $300. I then asked, well is it $350 because I have already paid $50 deposit. She forgot about my $50 deposit, and was trying to charge me full price. I asked her, why she quoted me $100, then was charging me $300 and she just said that it was going to cost an extra $200 for the products used. I informed her that I did not have that amount of money in the bank, and ultimately I would of never agreed to a $300 service as I could not afford that at the time. She still insisted I pay the full $300 even though I had never agreed to that amount. I ended up paying $200 that day and said I would pay the remaining $100 on my next payday and left quickly as I felt sick. The next day, I messaged her saying that I felt deceived by her actions, and that ultimately I was not happy with the service she performed on my hair, as my hair pretty much looked the same as it did when I arrived. She has accepted no responsibility for her actions, has not even attempted to fix my hair when I communicated how unhappy I was with the service, and instead has blamed the entire situation on me, demanding more money out of me when I tell her how unhappy I am. At first I believed it might of been a miscommunication with the price, but now after making the effort to speak with her about my experience, and listening to her responses, I believe that she was deliberately deceptive in order to get 3 times the original amount of money as agreed upon. I would be extremely careful doing business with Esther, as she seems to have complete disregard for her customers experience and satisfaction, and only seems to care how much money she can get out of you. I am totally baffled as to how she has such glowing reviews when she is so dishonest in her business dealings. I would not wish my experience on anyone else, and I would caution anyone wanting to book and appointment at Estella Hair and Beauty to take your money to a company that actually cares about you and will not attempt to scam you. If you do end up going with Esther, ask for a quote for the TOTAL price in WRITING, and do not let her convince you into another service, even if she tells you it will be the same price.
