Nice art work on the platform's, only 2 of the 4 platform's have trains stopping at Erskineville train station. I had to ask the lady at the small shop at the main entrance if there was restrooms open any where on the station as I checked 2 platform's and the restrooms were locked platform 1 restrooms were open. This station doesn't go to many places so check time's and routes. But Erskineville Rd Erskineville the exit of the station is full of cafe's, Restaurant's, bar's and hotels which are worth checking
Super clean, helpful staff and the coolest little shop on the station owned by Bingh. New lifts on all platforms and they also have a waiting room.
I accidentally dropped my phone down the crack while getting on the train and was very stressed. I let the train guard know and a wonderful Erskineville train station guard lady came to help me. She successfully retrieved my phone back for me! I am extremely grateful. Thank you Erskineville train station guard lady!
Last time I was at Erskineville station during February 2023 I read that it's finally receiving an upgrade.nWith the Bankstown line being converted to the new Metro, you will no longer get a direct route to this line as you'll need to interchange at Sydenham from 2024 moving forward.nI grew up in Erskineville during the late 60s and early 70s as I remember catching a train to Hurstville. When the Eastern Suburbs line opened on 23 June 1979, the trains going to the Illawarra line never stopped at Erskinville and St. Peters. Now with the Metro line happening in Bankstown, the trains to Rockdale, Kogarah, Hurstville, Sutherland and Cronulla will stop at Erskineville and St Peters stations once again.
Erskineville Station is finally getting an upgrade! A traditional Sydney railway station with lots of lovely character, but short on accessibility. Looks like this will be rectified with the works that are underway.
