Lively and quiet at the far end of the beach until some wan*er decided to fly their drone overhead , really invasive, hovering and presumably taking photos or videos of me and the girls in bikinis on the beach. Having said that it was a great couple of hours in peace, watching the dogs splash around as well. Dog-friendliness: The puppy's love to chase seagulls here it seems : Picnic area: Grassy verge next to beach near the car park. Very quiet when I was there.
Small but picturesque grass reserve. Nice place for a picnic. Lots of parking adjacent. Renamed from “Short Beach” in 2005. “Named after the Hollywood actor, Errol Flynn who was born nearby on Battery Point in 1909. He briefly attended Albuera School 1918-1919 and lived in Duke St. Sandy Bay as a young child. His first associations with water and boats were likely to have been in this vicinity.”
A good beach for dogs off lead, access to the water for swimming. A popular place for kids to play safely in a secure fenced area. A very pleasant area for walking alongside the yacht clubs.
If you like dogs, the place to go as it is the local dog exercise/meeting area. Playground, gated nearby with picnic tables and toilets. Pleasant stroll to local yacht club. I wouldn't swim here, some do but use it as a launch site for kayaking.
This is my local park. It's a great off leash dog park, and people come from far and wide to run their dogs on the beach. Most digs are friendly and owners too. Nearby is a park for the kids and great scenery while your dog gets a good run.
Awesome all day dog beach! I've been coming here for 15 years with my dogs past and present. Dog-friendliness: Proper dog network where people refer to others as the dogs mum or dad
I remember it when it was called Short Beach. Thank you for explaining why it's called Errol Flynn Reserve now. I knew he was a Taswegian but I didn't know he went to Albeura St School. I used to walk home that way from school & from Sandy Bay to Battery Point. The whole area is steeped in history & sometimes it's bricks & mortar, mountains & history call us back home, back to the land that sits far away from the bustle of a busy world, close to its southern waters & winds the old men called the "Roaring Forties" - my dreaming takes me always to my homeland.
A relaxing place to visit. Dog friendly and good parking
Great spot to sit and relax, good play area for the kids.
Peaceful place after shopping in Hobart to come and relax, watch the dog's play, and smell the ocean.
