Top notch doctors and patient cares! This hospital can handle complex surgical cases just as well as public hospital. Doctors and nurses are very experienced. A/Prof Wilson is an excellent physician and works really well with top surgeons. The food is outstanding with a large selection of choices for meals, drinks and snacks. The entertainment system is great as well. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to get treatments at this hospital!
My daughter had tonsillectomy and adenoids removed. Every single staff member right from the main service desk throughout our stay was amazing. Providing genuine care for my daughter. They actually showed how much they care for these children . Took the time to comfort my daughter to make her feel safe until I arrived in recovery. Especially Millie emily in recovery was comforting her and making her feel safe when she woke up scared. All nurses that cared for her on the ward . And the whole surgical team took great care . Good to see staff taking their time and having care factors. Would recommend. We was so scared putting her in surgery but they took good care of her as promised
I had spine surgery 5 weeks ago and my experience with this hospital was fantastic. The whole process was very professional and smooth. The staff were excellent in every way. The food was delicious, healthy and great variety. Highly recommended!
Took my 3.5y to get tonsils and adenoids removed . ALL STAFF IS VERY ATTENTIVE, POLITE, KIND, FUN and FRIENDLY! Even had a visit from therapy dog called Koby I hope it’s the name! Play room is a little small but has enough to entertain the little ones! Fish tank is lovely and calming addition! Food is great for a hospital. Have nothing bad to say EXCEPT they should do something about support person bed situation… they are extremely uncomfortable! Hence the 4 stars!
I had an ankle fusion done here on 9/9/24. All of the staff from doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff were fantastic. Attentive, caring and considerate. The food options here were first class, so many selections to choose from and always on time . I really enjoyed my 4 day stay here and wouldn't hesitate to choose Epworth Richmond again
I would not ever come here again and I would warn others not to go private here, not sure what happened but my partner had a knee operation with an intended three night stay as a private patient and ended up in day surgery with no room, no privacy and no care, no food, no amenities and no way to call hospital staff. She was supposed to have four antibiotic injections and received only three as they were simply pushing her out the door to process other patients. We called the hospital to discuss the issues on the night and were simply told they had no rooms only to find out the next day from a ward manager they had a number of free beds in a ward. If you are looking for decent hospital care I would look elsewhere. https://hcc.vic.gov.au/
I recently had surgery at Epworth Richmond with Dean Trotter. Everything went smoothly, ALL staff from front reception, to cleaners and nurses were amazing and so lovely. Order from a huge menu for all your meals at whatever times suites you. Food was really nice and so many options to choose from. I felt very well cared for.
Joint surgery saw me visit here for three nights. Staff from check in to discharge were exceptional, friendly, caring and supportive. The private room in the ward was well equipped with TV where you could access your own streaming services. Nursing staff were diligent, caring, patient, answered all questions and were responsive to needs. Meals were ordered by your electronic screen and was delivered at your time of choosing for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and night snack. Average quality food, but did the job. I would recommend Epworth Private to anyone.
I had foot surgery here in May 2022. I spent one night here and I discharged myself the next day even though I should have spent another night in hospital. I would never ever have surgery here again. I had two lots of further foot surgery in Mitcham Private Hospital and the experiences there were a dream compared with the nightmare of my first surgery. The major problem was the "nurse" on the evening/ night shift who was looking patients who had just had major surgery did not appear to be a qualified nurse and did nothing medically related. The only thing she did of her own volition for the entire shift was to be present on two occasions when another nurse gave me painkillers; on the first occasion the painkiller was fake. When the local anaesthetic wore off I was left in severe pain and ended up losing consciousness. One or other of the nurses may have stolen my painkiller. Later in the night the IV drip failed and I had a large amount of blood sucked out of my body. I was drinking a lot of water to compensate and had to use the bedpan a number of times. The "nurse" told me off for drinking too much water and failed to notice my blood in the IV drip at eye height. Other issues include a lack of monitoring after surgery this did not take place after I was conscious, the "nurse" allowed me to have food within 4 hours of surgery, if I had not insisted I would received any evening meal, any breakfast, my luggage or my asthma inhaler. I should have received antibiotics and bloodthinner while I was in hospital which did not happen. I was on a four bed ward and the nurses did not keep the other patients quiet; the woman in the next bed was watching TV at 5.30 am. This is only a selection of the problems I experienced; there is not enough room on the review form to detail them all. I have already complained to the hospital about my treatment and I have made a pain and suffering claim which they refused to pay.
I decided to change hospital for my regular check-ups this was highly the best decision. I was taken care in a very awesome way. They all incredibly amazing! The food service was great. They are worth it and the price if you want to get the best care and treatment. Thank you Team
