I went to this restaurant for the first time a week or so ago. I went for the yum cha. It was very good. The portion sizes of the yum cha were generous and filling. The taste was on point and a very close match to the authentic yum cha taste I know from Hong Kong. It hasn't knocked off my absolute favourite place for yum cha in Adelaide, but a good experience. I personally wouldn't come here too often only because I live in the Western suburbs of Adelaide and it is quite a drive to get here, but I would recommend for locals to the Eastern suburbs and those wanting to try a different yum cha venue.
Came here for yum cha with my boyfriend on a really hot day. No wait at all. We were seated straight away by a lovely lady, which was a great start.nWe ordered quite a few dishes and left absolutely stuffed. Overall, the food here is slightly better than most yum cha places I’ve tried in Adelaide. The beef meatballs and fried squids were standouts for me.nA couple of things could be better. The skins on the spinach prawn dumplings and the prawn rice rolls were a bit thick, though they still tasted good. The taro dumplings didn’t seem super fresh and weren’t very crispy.nStill, a solid yum cha spot and I’d definitely recommend giving it a go.
Dined in twice this month, once for lunch for yum cha and second time for dinner. The salt and pepper squid, Chinese broccoli and fried rice were delicious although the second time, the fried rice lacked salt. Yum cha was just aokay. Spring rolls were tasty along with the pork bbq pastry however the rest of it were average. The waiters need a little refinement. Service is probably what is a bit off-putting as it's really hit and miss. The manager is lovely and so is the general atmosphere of the restaurant. I'd still go back. I think the a la carte is probably better than the yum chat itself.

We had our tea ceremony banquet at Empress Restaurant and the service, food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Special thanks to Eric, Daniel and Emma for being super accommodating and attentive during the entire planning process.nnThe custom menu was divine, exactly what we wanted and even able to specially make up vegan/vegetarian menus for our guests. The price was very reasonable, food came out quickly, we could not have asked for any better. Would absolutely recommend having dinner and lunch here - their yum cha menu is also very yummy!nnOnly a few photos to share of the food as we were too busy during the day to take more, but everything had great presentation and decent servings!
