A very nice and clean city beach, an amazing location for sunsets around the Melbourne area
When I was here the water was black and it smelled very fishy. I had a not very pleasant walk due to the smell. The area was nice and pretty clean however the smell really made a massive affect on the whole experience
Elwood Beach near Point Ormond is such a gem! If you're chasing sunsets in Melbourne, this is the place to be. The views from Point Ormond Lookout are absolutely stunning – you can see the city skyline light up while the sun dips into the bay. nnThe beach itself is peaceful and not too crowded, which makes it ideal for a relaxing stroll or just kicking back to enjoy the view. There are public restrooms nearby.
Nice beach. Good for dogs when it’s less busy. Sand is pretty good, though it can get a bit like pebbles near the water. The water is often clear, though in some parts can get quite dirty. Sometimes no people, though on very nice days there are often crowds.
Go swimming or surfing in the clear, blue and icy water to cool down or sunbathe under the hot sunshine and enjoy the sunset. Beware of the bikes and dogs. Remember to bring sunscreen.
