Amazing club for junior tennis. The coaches are so engaging with the kids and very patient, even on a rainy day. An absolute gem in the community.
Great facilities. Coaching to cater for all ages and abilities. New court lights and updated facilities very comfortable
My review is specifically about the Pickleball courts. As a regular intermediate player from the US, I play about 3x a week back home. I was looking for open play as a single person. Open play is where you rotate amongst all those who have signed up for the time slot. This was accomplished and the fee was $15aud. They do provide paddles but I have my own. Check in was easy and balls were provided. There is a changing room/toilet with showers should you need them. That’s all the good parts and the star rating is on these courts 2.nI was playing with all beginners which is fine. I don’t mind sharing the game to new enthusiasts and those needing some guidance.nThe courts. First off, they’re on a little bit of a slant from opposing sides. Secondly having sand all over the court area surface is not preferred. Maybe for tennis but not pickleball. There is no run off on these courts. There is no run off area but two feet to the sides with hard walls and a water spigot. As you advance and playing for a point, you’re gonna wanna make those shots but not with that hard wall there. It’s only a matter of time until someone gets injured. Lastly it was windy. Now not the clubs fault but the courts are next to a building where one side has an advantage of the wind and the other side does not depending on wind direction.nThis might be nice to understand the rules of the game but if you’re moving into intermediate or competitive you won’t want to play the way these are configured with slanting courts and adjacent hard walls. Once demand becomes apparent, they’ll have to improve their facility.
The club and trainers are excellent. I cannot fault them in any way. However the cancellation/catch up policy is so rigid. 2 catch ups per term are allowed which is good, but unless you’ve planned your absence in advance, or been able to give 24 hours notice, you lose your money. And even when you do, it takes several phone calls and whole lot of convincing them they should give it to you. Even when I had Covid, and then had to isolate for longer than 1 week due to being a household contact I was denied catch ups twice before someone finally granted them. I do understand they are running a business, however I’ll be looking for a club with better customer service, and more realistic policies.
It used to be a nice place till they add a very new beginner to our class. We have been taking a semi private class for almost five month. On our 3rd term a new guy joined our class with quiet different level which made us not to be able to do a rally anymore. All 3 of us cant enjoy our class and get much out of it. Although we asked the management to change the new person class for several times, they keep saying that if we are not satisfied we should change our time and class! 3 of us.Seems the money is much more important than the customer's satisfaction
