Popped in today, Dec 13th 2022. Decided to go with the Xmas menu. Salmon starter was good. The turkey held no taste and the dollop of thick bread sauce had a putrid taste. Waitress asked if my meal was ok when she collected my still full plate.I told her it was tasteless and she just smiled and shrugged. Have had decent meals there before so maybe their chef needs a lesson or two on Xmas dinners.
We had Christmas Day dinner for a party of 12 - absolutely superb meal throughout - food excellent and staff efficient, attentive and welcoming - 5 star experience - thank you !Service: 5/5
Warm and welcoming, friendly staff and good reasonable food.
We had an excellent lunch. The lunch menu had a good choice of reasonably priced items. The dining room was convivial with a traditional decor and a real coal fire which added to the atmosphere. Biggar seems to have a good selection of licensed premises and it would have been nice to have had the time to visit all of them. Not a good idea when driving.
We went for a family meal food was excellent staff were friendly service was excellent.I Would recommend the Elphinstone to family and friends.Service: 5/5
My wife and I often venture to Biggar and invariably dine at the Elphinstone Hotel, a friendly atmosphere, portions are generous, and it's well worth a visit Nearby activities: Biggar is always worth a visit
For 4 days in May I stayed at the Elphinstone Hotel with a group of adults with learning disabilities. We were in Biggar to put on an art exhibition. The staff at the hotel were amazing. They were welcoming and kind. It was the 'home from home' we had hope for. The rooms were perfect. Comfortable beds and stylish rooms. The food at the restaurant is absolutely delicious. We will definitely go back.
Quiet and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Was a nice place to get away from rain for a wee bit. Also prices are very good.
A great welcome from very helpful staff, followed by good food and then comfortable bed what more could you ask forRooms: 5/5
Very good midweek lunch. Stopped in, warm welcome. We asked what was dairy free and the waiter went to all the chef whip carefully went through the whole menu. How nice. Soup and roll came out instantly and were delicious. Fish and chips has a very good batter. Ideal for a good pub lunch. Could have been quicker but I’ll not take off a star for that.
