It was a nice surprise to stumble across El Beau Room while on my way to the usual harbour side bars in Manly. The brick walls and dark furnishings create an intimate atmosphere, although there's more than enough 'elbow room' as the name suggests. I had the sliders as an early evening snack which were delicious, and washed it down with merlot from their simple wine list. The fittings are very creative, using standard kitchen appliances eg. colanders as light shades. Will be great to see how this bar develops and settles into the local Manly scene.
This is a friendly small bar in Manly with a fun vibe and a very warehouse feel with long wooden tables, exposed brick walls with pipes and generally a relaxed feel to it.. It's open till late and the plus point so is their kitchen ! So if it's a late night snack you are after then head here. Tried a couple of their shared plates and their sliders and scallops were really good.. The beer selection is good and so is the cocktail menu.. The music is generally lively and the dim lights give it a cozy feel. However they need to zero in on whether they are okay being a bar or are they looking to be a resturant, because the last time we went there the waitress asked us if we were after some food and that they are not just a bar! Wasn't sure what that meant so we had a quick drink and left.. That aside it's cool bar with a laidback feel so kick back relax and have a drink or two like the locals do!
I hosted an event at El Beau - They were nothing short of fantastic! Amazing service, interesting beers, great food, nice atmosphere, a very accommodating team. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
