Good place to go to get to the city fast. Buses at least every 10 minutes and no traffic problems to delay your trip.nPlenty of parking if you're there by 7am. After that you can go to the overflow carpark across the road.
On a number of occasions I have picked up my wife at the busway when she has bused there from Redland Bay, to then drive into the city, and that has worked just fine. I am now requiring weekly treatment at the Mater Hospital in the city. Yesterday we decided to drive to the busway and take advantage of the dedicated bus lane into the city. We arrived around the middle of the dayTuesday to find not one parking space anyway at the busway, or at the car park across the highway. What is the use of encouraging the use of public transport if you cannot find somewhere to leave your car? Parking in the city is expensive, which is another reasonnwhy we want to use the busway. This was a very frustrating experience.
The bus interchange is very conveniently located near the Gateway Motorway and has plenty of free car parking.nnFor the history buffs, the interchange used to be a drive-in open air theatre.
This station has a nasty reputation for buses not stopping here. This is as planned by Translink who have removed this station from routes that used to stop here.nUnfortunately, this does not help those who need to stop here when using specific routes like the 118 that are designed to get people from other suburban areas to this very part of the city.nTranslink expect you to travel through this stop, up to the next, where you need to catch a transfer route back to this very station that you passed through only 10 minutes earlier.nPoor route planning on Translink's behalf has made this bus station an inconvenience, rather than a service to their customers.
A major busway station - the first or last on the dedicated south east freeway. No where near enough parking for a major hub as you need to drive to get there. Regular city bound services.
