Tien Dat first opened in 1983 with a still ongoing legacy for being the freshest tasting Vietnamese food in Melbournes Eastern Suburbs and maintaining the reputation as one of the bustling ‘go to’ places for fresh and elegant Vietnamese food. Popular dishes included Pho (beef noodle soup), Bun (rice vermicelli), Banh Xeo (Viettnamese crepe), Cha Gio (spring rolls), Goi Cuon (rice paper rolls); and the even popular tender spicy salted peppered squid. Bookings are essential, particularly Fridays and Saturdays. Takeaway service is also available. Tien Dat is a fully licensed (BYO WINE ONLY) restaurant with 3 dining areas: upstairs, downstairs and an outdoor area which is sheltered and heated. The restaurant has been featured in various news articles, the most recent being - Age Cheap Eats Guide 2010 - 3/3 Stars.
