About Welcome to the official Facebook page for St Clare's Catholic School Burdell. Story St Clare's Catholic School opened on January 24, 2011 with 177 students. Stage One comprised of eleven classrooms, two multipurpose rooms, tuckshop, sports room and student amenities. Two classrooms housed the Library, while another two accommodated the Administration and Staff facilities. The remaining classrooms catered for students from Prep to Year 7. Fr Giles Setter's vision of holding a Saturday Vigil Mass at the school to cater for a rapidly expanding neighbourhood came to fruition in early 2011. Mass continues to be held at the school each Saturday night. Stage 2 was completed in early January 2012 with the addition of an Administration building, two classrooms, and a large covered area. The total enrolment for 2012 reached 310 students. In 2014 we welcomed 400 students and their families to our school community. Construction of Stage 3 which comprised of 16 classroom spaces and student facilities was completed at the end of 2013. Construction on an exciting new building project commenced at the end of 2014. The school entered into a partnership with St Anthony's Parish and the Dicoesan Office to build a dual purpose facility that will serve the school and Northern Beaches community for church services and Outside School Hours Care. In 2015 Year 7 is officially part of the secondary schooling model. However, even with the loss of this cohort of students, our enrolments have continued to grow to 555 students from Prep to Year 6. Mission St Clare’s Catholic School, Burdell exists to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ in a contemporary way. Our students will strive to be members of a community which values diversity and works for the Common Good. This shows the Spirit of Jesus alive in our hearts. Our students will receive the best of educational experiences to enhance their spiritual, cognitive, emotional, physical, social and cultural development. This will be attended to within a Christian Community in the Catholic Tradition. The spirit and example of St Clare and St Francis will be our guide.
