About At Alasya we're old school. Founded in 1978, we believe in fresh, healthy, handmade Turkish food, with a fun family environment at affordable prices. Story Alasya, as a name, has been in the hospitality industry since the 1960's. Historically, Alasya is the original name of Cyprus. Sentimentally, Alasya is the family name of the first proprietors of the restaurant in Cyprus. In 1977, Cemal Bekir migrated to Australia with his family. In 1978, he opened the first Alasya Restaurant in Melbourne, Australia, dedicating it to his mentor and teacher Mr.Alasya. Alasya continues to be owned and operated by the same family. Alasya Restaurant serves only Halal food. All prices include GST
