About Boutique art classes and workshops held in an artists studio, hidden in a heritage Victorian building in the heart of Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. Story Beginners: This class is designed for the complete beginner, and through a series of exercises and examples the student learns the fundamentals of painting, including choice of mediums and materials, preparing to paint, basic colour theory, and composition. We have two specifically designed courses to enable the student to confidently continue painting at home, we offer a short 4-week introductory course and an extended 8-week course. This course is also recommended for those wishing to refresh old skills. Intermediate and advanced: This class is offered to beginners who wish to continue after completing the 4 or 8-week beginners course, or those with some prior painting experience. Students work on a mixture of set projects and their own interests, and are encouraged to develop their own language and direction. All students continue to receive one-on-one teaching.
