About Fishing Hunting and Sports Shop Story South Canterbury’s only Fishing Hunting Sport store is situated in the heart of Washdyke, a northern industrial suburb of Timaru and offers customers a one stop shop for all recreational activities. Situated at 186 Hilton Highway, one of the busiest stretches of highway in the south island and offering plenty of parking, Davo’s Fishing Hunting Sport is spacious and well lit, stocking a comprehensive range of fishing, hunting and sporting equipment. The store is well set out. It features four distinct areas, with fishing tackle covering over 90sq metres. There is a wide range of clothing for both fishing and hunting. On the other side of the store is a well stocked area featuring cricket, hockey, tennis and other sports. Davo’s also stocks products for pool and darts enthusiasts. At the back is the hunting area which stocks a wide range of firearms, accessories and also camping equipment. Richard Davidson (Davo) is owner/manager and has been an avid fisherman in the area for a number of years. His experience fishing local rivers is second to none in the community. Together with his sister, Cheryl they run Davo’s as a locally owned family store. Davo’s Fishing & Hunting (formerly Hamills) recently expanded and now stocks sports gear. This transition into sport is another way of servicing the community and making Davo’s a one stop shop for all recreational activities.
