About Pencarrow Lodge is the perfect location for weddings, conferences, functions and tour groups in Wellington. Rural, coastal and remote, we are truly unique! Story A rustic, wild and unique location close to Wellington, Pencarrow Lodge is a privately owned sheep station surrounded by thousands of acres of regional parks. The lodge has been designed to have plenty of atmosphere all day, any day. Pencarrow Lodge is themed as a hunting lodge from game found in the area with timber floors, large open fireplaces, deep comfortable sofas and a large viewing deck. Pencarrow Cellar Room Our Cellar Room was purpose built to compliment the boutique vineyard located on the north side of the lodge. Exposed timber roof trusses, a large open fireplace and elegant chandeliers make this one of the best rooms in Wellington for weddings and events. Paiaka Suite The Paiaka Suite is an isolated and romantic hideaway for couples. Fully self contained, the suite features a French Tub with panoramic views of New Zealand's South Island, comfortable king size bed, cooking facilities and Sky television. Being surrounded by 1000s of acres of regional park and private farmland make the Paiaka Suite the ultimate experience of seclusion and intimacy. Access to Pencarrow Lodge Pencarrow Lodge is a private, secluded venue that works under strict resource consent which limits the number of commercial vehicles to the lodge each day. Guests must travel to Pencarrow Lodge via private coach or mini van. The drive along the rugged coastline takes you along the first road between Wellington and the Wairarapa, with views of the historic Pencarrow lighthouse, Wellington's two freshwater lakes and the remains of the Paiaka shipwreck.
