"The St. Cecilia School of Music was established officially in 1974 in Launceston, Tasmania.Within a short period of time over 1000 music students were enrolled in the School with 18 fully-qualified professional music teachers. The tradition of offering high-quality music education continues to this day.Major concerts featuring the School’s string orchestras and choirs have been held in Launceston for the past 40 years and usually attract large audiences – typically over 500 people. Local St. Cecilia students as well as guests from interstate and overseas are regularly featured in St. Cecilia concerts."
