"A fully volunteer CFA Fire Brigade protecting the people and property of Truganina, Tarneit and Mt Cottrell and the surrounding district. Established in 1940, the brigade has evolved over the past 20 years from a country brigade focussed on rural risks to a fully urban brigade that can address all risk factors from grass and scrub fires through to full urban structure fires.In 2019 Truganina became a support brigade that works in concert with the permanently manned now Fire Rescue Victoria fire station at 417 Derrimut Road, Tarneit.Truganina is one of 12 brigades in the Mount Cottrell Group, which is in turn one of 4 groups in CFA's District 14, which covers the outer parts of the Northern and Western Metropolitan area ."
