About Family Day Care Provider Story I believe and value the idea that children learn and personally develop through play. My programs are flexible and directed towards meeting the needs and interest of all the children in my care. In meeting those groups and individual needs I base programs on the following beliefs: Children learn as they explore, create and experiment. Children thrive under a wide range of experiences and opportunities for social interaction furthering development by being exposed to new ideas, asking questions, finding answers and learning to express themselves. Children need to develop body awareness, physical skills and a sense of independence. Each child learns at their own rate. Children benefit from fair, consistent boundaries. Children need a warm, happy environment in which to grow. Safe away from home, in a positive and non-threatening surrounding where they can develop special relationships with the adults and children in the day care home. Lifelong education and personal growth comes from a combination of the child, the parents/guardians , the teacher and the community around them I, as your care provider, I am one link in that chain. “Play is child’s work
