"Roleystone Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service is a vital part of the local community. Founded in 1957, the Brigade was initially formed as a Bush Fire Brigade BFB. In 1999, the addition of the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service VFRS further enhanced the Brigade’s capacity to help protect the wider Roleystone-Karragullen communities. The Brigade's focus within the community is along the state guidelines of prevention, preparation, response and recovery PPRR and is particularly focused upon the role of bush fire fighting in the local grassland and Jarrah-Marri environment. With the development of VFRS, the Brigade has extended its capability to attend structural, road crash and HAZMAT incidents."
