About Monarch Hair/ For Appointments Call 94193366 Story Monarch Hair and Color has now been around for over 17 years, Created by Santina Cotela back in 1995, after having worked at several leading Salons around Melbourne for a number of years. Santina Studied Fine Art at the infamous Prahran Art College back in the 80's. Cathy Cotela joined Monarch in 2000, as Colorist. Cathy came from a Graphic Design background working at Australia's leading Music, Fashion and Youth Design Studio FCD. The original Monarch was on the Collingwood side of Smith Street for over seventeen years, before crossing the road to the Fitzroy side in 2012 to its current location on the corner of Smith and Johnson Street.
