Wish I’d found Michael and this salon sooner!!! Michael is a true artist and worked his talent on my fine and straight hair. I have shoulder length hair and like to be able to put it up on occasions but I wouldn’t hesitate to go to a shorter style with full confidence that Michael really knows what suits individual face and head shapes. I highly, highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!!
I highly recommend this salon to ANYONE looking for a style cut or blowout. I was super nervous getting my hair cut by a new hairdresser. The salon was clean and very well presented. I have very very thick and moderately long hair. So I was not only worried about the cut… but also the price. This cut was one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. I felt heard and respected when I voiced my wishes. His experience shone through from the start, I just sat back and watched magic literally happen. My hair was cut in such a flattering way. The blowout was out of this world. Price was very very reasonable. Highly highly recommend. Thank you Michael very much for the amazing work.
Michael & the team at Edge Hair are the best!! Been going here for years, the service is always fantastic, my hair is healthy, shiny & easy to style and I always leave the salon feeling like a movie star!! Highly recommend & a big thank you to Michael for always taking excellent care!
Very disappointed. Waited 50 mins, even though booked in! New client, no greeting so just sat down. Finally Michael says to please take a chair, looks at my hair ever so briefly asks what I want, but obviously doesn't listen or care as end result NOTHING like the desired style! The result is probably the worst cut I have ever had. Michael has no personality, he can't blow dry instead scorched my hair with a very hot straightner because he cut it badly and could get it to sit right! I have had young apprentices do a better job, it had no bounce or wave. He used no product, not even a heat protectant. To top it off he just finished fingerings hair into place, whipped off the cape and simply moved on to the next client, not a word! If you are young and have medium/long hair DON'T go here, only for older pixie cuts and grey bobs I'm afraid. WORST experience ever and now left with growing this out for months!!
I have short hair and went to Edge on a recommendation from a friend and the cut was fantastic. In September 2022 it was $132 for a cut and Michael did a great job cutting my hair so it would grow out well and providing advice on how to get through the pesky in between stage. The vibe is friendly and laid back and the only reason this isn’t five stars is because for the price I’d have liked a bit more of the salon treatment the shampoo etc. was very business-like. If you have short hair or are after a spectacular cut and don’t mind a more “no frills” approach then this is the salon for you.
I just had my hair cut and colour done by Michael and Jess, They are truly miracle workers. I had lost some of my hair and I’m just seeing some new growth so very little for them to work with but they looked after me so beautifully and professionally I will be a lifetime customer. Loved my experience at Edge! I am a very minimalist hair maintainer - I have long hair that I rarely get cut because I can’t be bothered. I decided to get a side and back undercut and they fit me in at a time convenient to me with not a huge wait time, amazing given Covid-times. I chose Edge because their Instagram looked a thousand times more interesting than most of the generic salons in Canberra. Glad I did! Michael absolutely nailed the cut - knew what he needed to do straight away based on my hair/face shape and I walked out LOVING it. A repeat customer for sure. :Service: Hairstyling
I love this salon. They are reasonably priced and I really value the confidence the stylists have in their knowledge. Jenny, Jamie and Michael provide great guidance in making decisions about my style that will best suit my appearance. I have been to a few Canberra salons in my search for a well-trained team that provides consistent quality and these guys are by far the best. I always look forward to my appointments at Edge!
