Recently, I had the getting some food fr9m Eat Fish, and I have to say fantastic. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the restaurant's sleek and modern decor, which created a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The menu was impressive, with a wide variety of fresh seafood dishes to choose from. I opted for fish and chips, which were cooked to perfectly. The service at Eat Fish was also exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that my experience was enjoyable and that I had everything I needed. I had a experience at Eat Fish. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. Parking: Heaps of street parking but depending on time of the day, can sometimes be a little hard to find parking.
I don’t eat fish much.However, Eat Fish managed to give me the best fish and chips experience so far. I ordered grilled whiting and rockling fillets. The taste and freshness exceeded all my expectations. Ali was very friendly and informative behind the counter. Keep up the good work mate! Definitely recommend and will be back for more!
Great experience and best Fish and Chips in Local Area Ashburton. Came here tonight with my friends for Fish and Chips takeaway and the Grilled Rockling and Barramundi was so delicious also the proportion and quality of food was amazing. The chips were nice and crispy and weren’t soggy or dry and the oil used is clean. Very Friendly staff members and great service. Good on you Guys will Recommend all local and everyone and will be back again. Cheers
Best fish and chips in town! This fish and chip shop has a fresh and wide variety of fish and seafood. You can buy fresh seafood or get it cooked in the store with a decent amount of seating. We had Grilled Salmon, Grilled Prawns, Salt & Pepper Squid, Potato Chips, Sweet Potato Fries and Greek Salad. Everything was made fresh and tasted amazing. The Salmon was perfectly cooked and the Prawns were yummy. Squids were tender and juicy! Do give them a visit, if you love seafood!
This is a well known fish and chips joint in Ashburton that sells a wide range of fresh fish and seafood. You can buy the seafood fresh to cook yourself at home, or have them cook it for you to eat in or takeaway. I had read a lot of recent mixed reviews, so I was a bit worried, but I really enjoyed my meal here! You could tell that the seafood was very fresh, especially the prawns which were nice, plump and firm. Highly recommend the prawn skewers! The batter for the fish was thin and crispy and the chips were crunchy and well cooked. The burger I had was massive, and the beef patty was thick and juicy.
- Fried King George Whiting w/ Chips $15.9 - Fried Snapper w/ Chips $15.9 - Grilled Squid w/ Asian Garlic Ginger Sauce $9.9 - Prawn Skewer w/ Garlic Sauce $8.9 I enjoyed the snapper, it was fresh and crispy. However, there were heaps of small bones in the King George whiting which really annoyed me. The prawn skewer was alright but the char grilled squid was so bland with merely no charred flavour. Portion size was slightly small at this price range. Overall, overpriced and average fish & chips.
I hate to have to write this. Have been a loyal customer since it opened. But a few recent takeaway experiences have been less than ideal. Prices are high, but portion sizes have reduced dramatically. I always told people how generous your servings were, but sadly no longer. I know fish has become more expensive, but to reduce portions to a 1/3 of the size they used to be seems excessive, especially as you are charging more. The other disappointment was the chips. Again, I know there has been a potato shortage, but these tasted stale. Not to the high standards they used to be. I used to rave about your chips. I don't think they're cooked in the rice bran oil any more either. Thus ends my ordering takeaway. I will still continue as a fresh fish customer and hope things improve.
"Eat Fish"....do your self a favour and don't. We have given this place several chances because a colleague recommended it, saying it had won awards etc. That was a long time ago. To date, we have been served - raw chicken a burger which, to be fair, they did replace after I left home mid dinner to return to the shop - fish when we asked for chicken - some of the saddest chips I have ever seen bright yellow and cooked in what must have been a lukewarm bath of oil rather than a fryer - a fish bite which I am sure would have been delicious had it not obviously sat unused for so long it went brown inside and died again again of old age. - fried scallops varying in consistency from phlegm to slightly aged marshmallow And all this at the reasonable price of at least $10 more than advertised on their website for our last order. We have given this place enough chances. Don't Eat Fish. Not here anyway.
Eat fish Ashbourton is a well known fish and chips joint that has been popping up all over my social media so I couldn’t wait to give it a try. The shop sells a wide range of fresh seafood that you can either take home or eat there. I chose the two below dishes and found them both to be so yum, especially the wrap. The cocktail sauce was what differentiated it from everything else! The seafood here was fresh and cooked perfectly. I love how the fish batter was crispy, thin and not oily at all. It’s so flavourful and cooked perfectly
