Established since 1981. There is more than a touch of the 80s about this 32-year-old in the centre of Templestowe, with its glass windows,well- lit chandelier light. Despite its impressive appearance, Eastern Court isn't as pricy as you might think.

Food and service was good, portions were a good size too. We ordered the Special Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Pork, Shandong Chicken, and a Banana Fritter with Ice-cream to share. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience in a cozy venue. Would definitely return to try the other items in their menu, or to try their takeaway lunch options from the takeaway menu shown to us, there were probably 10 different choices to choose from? The dessert we ordered was very nicely done, not overly sweet nor too oily. If this place had special deals of a meal deal with a choice or 2 of their desserts, we’d definitely go back more often!
Parking at the back, interior decorated in classic Chinese style. There’s a live music an old guy singing English oldies songs on that evening we were there with a floor space to dance if you fancy. Management service is friendly and explains the dishes when ordering. The dishes were prepared quite quickly, and served in a large, fine cuisine style plates. But since the round table is quite small, they barely can fit on the turntable and we can’t really turn the turntable around without knocking over cups/glasses. Perhaps serving them in a smaller plates would be better and won’t affect the experience. A bit understaffed that night, took a while to ask for top up of water/Chinese tea. I think food is average and acceptable for simple local meals if you don’t want to travel too far, and have a relaxed, dopey experience listening to slow music while dining....
Good and friendly staff who are very helpful and often looking after their customers. The food here are good and delicious. However, I do feel that the price here are a little too steep.
I had the crispy belly pork in this restaurant.It's so yummy, the pork skin is crispy and melted in your mouth. The meat was tender and not too salty. The blanched corn fed chicken dipped with minced ginger and spring onions was great. The food at that restaurant served is out of this world!
We had our parent’s 50th gold wedding anniversary party at Eastern Court. The Mud Crab with Ginger and Shallot and noodles. The scrumptious gingery Crab is so tasty even the chewy noodle is full of taste. We also had stuffed Scallop with Prawn paste and dry Scallop with Snow Peas Sprouts which we ordered ahead. We had an unforgettable good time with live music and excellent food.
Very costly and the food was average, took long to get the food, but the staff where so friendly. The manager was talking to us and sharing all sorts of cool information. The others really enjoyed there food so maybe it was just the honey chicken I ordered, I mean how many different ways can there be to make honey chicken. Was good but the same as every other places honey chicken. Would like to see faster service. But all in all really plessent because of the guy chatting with us
The service was great. Our needs were met instantly. There is an aura of glamour. Beautiful table settings with large white spotless table napkins. The food was top class. Yes we would go there again. It is a place for a special occasion.
Wonderful food terrific service. Roasted Cantonese duck and fresh chili mud crabs are the best Ive ever tasted. Husband and wife team very attentive to your needs, reasonable prices, no hassle with parking. Large restaurant with plenty of room between tables. Crepe Suzette cooked at your table was delicious and spectacular. Weve been there 4 times over the past 3 months and have enjoyed it every time.
In terms of food I would say I've had better meals at food court takeaways. It was really quite awful. The service was attentive and friendly and our child loves the live music Henderson the second star. Overall we wouldn't recommend it or ever go back though.
Avoid this place at all costs. The yum cha today was disgusting to be nice. The spring rolls were stale, the dumpling skins were hard, the squid was stone cold and chewy, the fried rice was made from frozen veggies. There are so many other amazing yum cha venues in the area, spare yourself the disappointment.
